Don't know why my link didn't work. Another try: http://veerahiranandani.weebly.com/blog-beyond-mac--cheese.html. If it doesn't work again I'll be just a tad embarrassed.

Save dinner. Save the world. That's my slogan at Beyond Mac and Cheese, a blog about trying to get my family to eat more sustainably AND adventurously. Basically, I'm just sick of mac and cheese! Check it out at:
Would love comments about how you introduce new foods to your kids.

Here is an interesting article about needle biopsies for you to consider if this procedure is recommended to you: http://www.examiner.com/examiner/x-17146-Dallas-Womens-Health-Examiner~y2009m10d1-Research-shows-that-needle-biopsies-can-spread-cancer-to-the-lymph-nodes

For our weekly blog, I'm looking for myths that going green is the less sanitary/less safe alternative and backup for why it is a myth.

For example:

Myth: Bottled Water is safer/cleaner than tap water
Fact: GAO report found that Bottled Water is less regulated than tap water and EWG found contaminants in 10 major water bottle brands...

Myth: Hand Sanitizer containing alcohol and/or antibacterial ingredients are the safest and most efficient way to kill germs

Fact: Non-toxic hand sanitizers do as good or better job at killing germs without the risk of poisoning, antibiotic resistance, and exposure to carcinogenic chemicals (with links to backup).

Please send your myth, the reason it is a myth, and links to credible sources to back up your reason to me at gia@ecoplum.com by Thursday 10/1 at 5pm EST. THANKS!

Kathy, this is true and sometimes I feel like I am talking to myself. I want to just scream out loud, "Wake Up-everything is making us sick." I am slowly but surely winning my friends over, but I have been talking to them about this for 5 years and it is just starting to sink in. A good detox would help to rid your body of these toxins and prolong your life. Here is a link to an excellent detox diet: http://www.examiner.com/examiner/x-17146-Dallas-Womens-Health-Examiner~y2009m8d27-Detoxification-heals-the-body

*Over the last 20-30 years, as more toxic chemicals have been introduced in greater amounts, the level of toxins stored in adipose tissues (fat cells) of our bodies has risen. Bioaccumulation studies have shown that some toxins store in our bodies for life. Greater and greater amounts are being stored at younger ages. Diseases that used to occur later in life are now appearing at younger ages. Disease that used to be rare is more frequent.
For example: -There has been a 28% increase in childhood cancer since the addition of pesticides into household products (Source: National Cancer Institute)
*In one decade, there has been a 42% increase in asthma (29% for men; 82% for women – the higher rate for women is believed to be due to women’s longer exposure times to household chemicals)(Source: Center for Disease Control)
*There is an increased risk for leukemia in children where parents have used pesticides in the home or garden before the child’s birth (Source: Journal of the National Cancer Institute)
*Over 150 chemicals found in the average home have been linked to allergies, asthma, birth defects, cancer, and psychological abnormalities.(Source: Consumer Product Safety Commission)
It's REALY scary and that's why so many moms are going green!

Please note this is related to children with neurological disorders because they seem to have the highest death rates: http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2009/09/22/Low-Vitamin-D-Increases-Flu-Death-Risk-in-Kids.aspx

Hi Eco mamas... I'm counting down the days now until my baby is born and to share the fun I started a guessing game on my blog for people to guess the sex, date, weight etc of the baby! There is a small prize of a $10 Amazon gift voucher for the winner. I would love for anyone in this group to take a look and a guess! The link is http://onelovelivity.com/childofnatureblog/?p=671 Thanks a million in advance for stopping by and sharing your thoughts!

Green Mamas, don't give your children or yourselves Peptbismol when diarreah is present. Instead everyone should take a probiotic to stop diarreah in its tracks. My girlfriend now refers to me as Dr. Parker because her doctor could not stop her symptoms-she called me. I told her to buy a probiotic and take it-she did and told everyone, even the doctor, the great news-lol. I am slowly but surely making my friends and family members believers-even her mom came by a day later and said, okay-I'll take it. They were in thd Dominican Republic and everyone was sick. Here is the link and feel free to ask questions: http://www.examiner.com/examiner/x-17146-Dallas-Womens-Health-Examiner~y2009m9d11-Probiotics-stops-Traveling-Diarreah

P.S. Jarrows makes a great one called Yum Yum for kids 2 and above.
