What have you learned from watching HGTV "shows"

Huge chunks of my blog Condo Blues http://condo-blues.blogspot.com could be titles "I learned this from watching HGTV and DIY network"! Recently I made a raised garden bed bordered with reclaimed bricks, I picked up a few little sewing tips here and there when HGTV used to run craft and sewing shows, and I learned how to look at a piece of junk and imagine what it could be instead of what it currently is. Most of all I learned to be not afraid to try new projects, new things, new color combinations, and to use power tools.

I learned that there are a lot of people out there with worse kitchens than mine, and that I'm not the only person who doesn't know how to decorate a room. And that my six-year old has really good taste when it comes to buying a house, among other things... I'm so in love with HGTV!

I'll be sure to check out your blog....your raised bed project sounds exciting. I bet you had fun doing it and appreciated more-because YOU did it.

I like this because I know alot of people in need of kitchen makeovers.....wouldn't it be nice to win a kitchen makeover...one YOU didn't have to pay for :)

Unfortunately, I have not had the extra funds to put anything I've learned on HGTV to use. Even the really inexpensive ideas. Most of what I have learned, that I've really been interested in, is from shows such as Decorating Cents and Design on a Dime...makeovers that don't cost a small fortune, and a lot of repurposing and working with what you already have.

I can't wait to check out Condo Blues!
