It would definitely be my bedroom. I'm actually planning to redo it by end of summer. I pretty much know what I want to do but if I could get a designer I would have to go with Vern Yip. Loved him since the old "Trading Spaces" days on TLC, back when Paige was hosting. I don't think there was ever a design of his that I didn't like.
It would be the kitchen. Not really paying too much attention when we built the house, but the kitchen is way too small. Really only person can be working in the kitchen at a time or you keep bumping into each other. I would love to expand the kitchen, put in more counter and cabinet space, a bigger island, double ovens (I like to cook and bake), a wine cooler. Upgrade all the appliances. It would be a major overhaul, but at that point I might as well look for another house with a bigger kitchen!!!
I would like to try to come up with the design myself, not sure who I would hire to actually do it. My neighbor is an architect.
I would have to do my living room. I don't have a foyer or entryway, so the entire room, + open dining + some kitchen (via a pass-through) is the very first thing you see when the front door is opened. I wish we had the space to wall off an 'entry' or something to give us a bit more privacy, but I guess I'll just figure out how to work with what I've got.
I like to keep things fresh in my place by doing more smaller projects such as adding new pillows, a fresh coat of paint, updating window treatments or just adding/replacing a new decorative item. Since most of my time is spent in my living room and my office, those are the areas I concentrate on. Fresh flowers every couple of weeks also helps to keep your home in good Feng Shui! If I had to re-design one room though, it would have to be my bedroom, I am just waiting for my new kitten to be trained to keep his claws to himself before I buy a new bedspread!
