My youngest just entered "high school." My oldest is a Junior and taking dual enrollment classes at 2 universities. While we have not considered ourselves the perfect example of homeschooling, because we have had to adapt curriculums due to learning disabilities, family situations, etc., we have managed to make it work for us. What kind of assistance are you looking for?

My oldest is in 10th grade, youngest in 6th. We've homeschooled 10 years now. :-) What do you need help with?

My daughter has severe ADD. I took her out this past January after repetitive calls from teachers giving her higher grades, among many other things. That's how I started unschooling, as the term is, my daughter. During that time, we worked on her self-esteem, gave her choices in what she wanted to study and didn't go at the work so hard and heavy.

I have many text books of varied ages, but I am doing a bit of back tracking so that she is up to term. I live in MS and there aren't stringent laws of homeschooling. yet I don't want them knocking on my door either. How much can the textbooks run and what sources are best/better?

How do I make this a successful educational life for my daughter? I don't want to do worse than what she's encountered in public schools.

Homeschooling can be as expensive or inexpensive as you make it. I put together curriculum for a 4th grader and an 8th grader for under $800. You can school for much less using free online resources and library books - it just takes more time searching out the information. There are others who spend much more.

I just did a review on "Homeschooling and Loving It!" which is a great resource to help you find your child's individual needs and goals and build the curriculum around them. It is being offered free by Laurel Springs school right now (pay $5.95 shipping).

Here is my review with a link to the order page

Thank you so much. I shall order this book. I'm glad I can be as creative as I can to get her connected educationally.
