Hi Jessie-
I'm not sure if this will be helpful to you and other local homeschoolers in your area but my husband and I along with another homeschool family just launched a new site for All homeschooler's regardless of beliefs or schooling styles. Membership is free the site is www.HSsegue.com. The intent of HSsegue is to provide homeschoolers with a method of organizing local events and to reach out to other like-minded homeschoolers. Here are some of the things you can do on the site:
What can I do on the site?
• Find other Parents to Co-Op with
• Locate classes I can't teach
• Organize Field Trips
• Enroll in Field Trips that others have organized
• Find Tutors/Instructors
• Post Co-Ops that are forming
• Post Classes that are forming
• Post and Discover Local Events If you have local events through out the year you can post them here
• RSVP to Local Events
• Post Educational Needs
• Enroll in Co-ops, Classes or Events that other people post.
• Create a class list from a posting that I have made for future communication.
All postings are viewable to registered members within a 100 mile radius of the zip code on the posting. When you post an event in Happenings all members get an automatic email notification of the event. We have many new homeschoolers signing up looking to meet others. People are posting informal gatherings, book fairs, conferences and such. No one yet has posted the Sandusky event that I can see so that would make a good post. Hope this information is helpful. I grew up in Michigan, sure miss those yummy cherries!
