twitter moms: the influential moms network

Hi, everyone...I am so glad that those of us who "hook" it have finally got a spot to have a place.

My name is Dawn. I am a happily married mom of 3 kids (2 of which are teens). My daughter also hooks with me, and has gotten quite good. We are considering starting an etsy store for our crocheted items, and we also sell at craft shows in our area. We also have a home business with Noah's Ark Animal Workshop and we homeschool all of our kids.

I'm looking forward to meeting everyone.

Hi, my name is Lori and I am also a lefty. I have been crochetig for 25 yrs. My favorite is working with thread. I love doing filet "pictures". I have actually just started working with yarn for the first time.
I used to crochet for a living when I lived in Italy. I bought so much thread there, that I don't think I will ever need white thread again.
I'm glad to meet everyone and can't wait to learn more about yarn!

Good evening. My name is Colleen Leader and I am the owner of LooseThreadStitchers. We are the first and only needlework search engine available today. I have worked for the past 4 years developing the site while raising my 3 children (5, 3 and 1). We are thrilled to get the word out about the site and offer our Twitter Mom's a Free sneak peek at the site before we launch to the stitching community (the industry is currently populating the site) in June. Please feel free to join our site as a Gold Stitching member using the code: 90freedays and let us know what you think. We are building our membership and are currently offering $250 worth of stash to both the 10,000th member and the member who referred them. Looking forward to learning about the group.

New to the group & glad to have found it! My grandmother had tried to teach me how to knit and crochet many moons ago, however I just never picked it up. Then back in February this year I had this sudden urge to learn how to crochet. I picked up some yarn and a Dummies book, and have been going non-stop since then! lol My Mom refers to me as an addict now lol I can't go long without having a hook and some yarn in my hands before I start to get the itch to crochet something. My first project was a bag that I use to hold my supplies. I have done a small blanket for my son's stuffed animals, though that didn't come out every well. lol My current project is another bag I plan to keep for everyday use :) I'm also working on scarfs with yarn that my grandmother had picked up ages ago that she's been knitting scarfs with. Thought it would be cool to help her out with that. :)

Hi Everyone,
I am Stephanie, sahm to 3. I learned to crochet last year via youtube. I always wanted to learn but after several failed attempts with the how-to books I turned to the web and have had much success. I am "hooked" I love it. It has been a very good escape and stress reliever and there is nothing more amazing than being able to view your finished projects and think wow I made that. I can't wait to get to know all of you better and share my passion for crochet with others that feel the same way.

Hello all. My name is Angeline. I am passionate about crocheting. It is my Prozac. I think my favorite thing to do in the world is listen to an audiobook while working on a crochet project. I've been crocheting since I was a kid and when my Aunt Rita taught me how. Unfortunately, since I've had kids, I haven't been able to do it as much as I like.

Since the kids I've had to stop making long projects, like blankets, and have gotten really into Victorian crochet jewelry. (I've attached a picture of what I mean.) I can have a project that I can wear or give away completed in a few hours. I recently got my own bead spinner and that is a huge time-saver when creating beaded crochet jewelry.

I look forward to hearing and seeing what everyone in this group is working on. Happy to meet you!

Angeline
