Welcome Tree! I found NexStitch for you, which has videos of many different styles. I hope it helps you.

Hi all! I just signed up because I WANT to crochet, but can't seem to get beyond the foundation chain. Anyone know a good place online to find help?

Sorry I haven't popped in the last couple of days, been busy getting some crocheting done, among other things.

Welcome, Melissa, glad to have you here.

Delete Comment Hi Everyone,

My grandaughter (10) asked me if I would teach her how to crochet! She is going to be a big sister and wanted to make her new sibling a blanket! Needless to say I was elated not once but twice 1.Teaching her and 2. Being a grandma again #6! I am hoping for a boy, beacuse that will make 3 boys and 3 girls!

I don't know how my mom did it, she had 6 boys and 6 girls! YES I'm from a family of 12 siblings!! I'm #6, smack dab in the middle.

My mother taught me how to crochet when I was around 13-14 yrs old! She made some beautiful afghans and doilies, that I have now and treasure :) I miss her dearly, she always wanted to be a Great Grandma!

Well thats a little of my crocheting stories!

God bless,
Danette

hey , thought I'd join... I'm in the middle of packing for moving into a new home at the end of the month and had to pack away my yarn, and it made me so sad :( but I can't wait to be in my new house by the wood stove, snuggled up on a cold Feb night, sipping hot chocolate and crocheting. It's been a while since I've made much I find that during the kids early years I end up putting the time consuming projects away for a little while, until they are older and a little more independent.

I'm a self taught crocheter...my grandmother tried for years to teach me and could not get past me having to hold the hook a certain way, which i COULD NOT do, so she never had the patience to teach me. So after she past away I inherited all her needles and yarn and got a book from the library and taught myself how. it was really simple once I let go of needing to hold the needle a certain way. I hold mine like how you hold a spoon and use more writ action.

anyway... looking forward to seeing some projects, and gathering some patterns. my new home will have two sofas, and three beds that will need new color coordinated throws for our cold winter nights up here in Canada.

I will post a few pics on my page of some of the crochet projects I've done.
