Ruthie: I have been to Israel twice. What would you like to know? Not that I know everything, but I am happy to share my experience.

I'm married to a non-practicing Jewish man. I am more of a spiritual being instead of a religious being. I would love any advice I can get on working with my children about religion and spirituality.

I am not Jewish but have many friends who are. I know some about the religion and would love to learn more. I am definitely interested in all I can learn and know. Has anyone here ever been to Israel?

Hello Ladies! I'm somewhere between Reform and Conservative (being a lesbian in a Conservative shul is...interesting, although the one I've been going to has been very welcoming) and while my wife is undecided (but she thinks she might be Jewish as she doesn't believe in Jesus as a savior...she's a funny woman) we are raising our son Jewish. Wow...what a run-on sentence. I just joined TwitterMoms, and frequent the Jewcy.com blogs so when I saw this I was automatically interested.
:-)

I just joined Juicy...should it be Jewcy?? Just kidding...

I belong to a reform congregation in New Jersey. Our Rabbi is a woman and our family feels very conected. I don't light Shabbat candles although we have tryed. I didn't grow up with that tradition so it never felt natural to me. We do enjoy eating Challah though and can go through a loaf really fast!

Both of our daughthers have become a Bat Mitzvah and still are involved in temple outreach activities.

That's a little about my jewish side!!

Hi there! My husband and my children are Jewish and I am not. I am not a very religious person, but when I had my kids I felt like they should be something so I decided to convert them to Judism. I knew it would be a bigger deal to my husbands family than mine. Although I do have times when I wish I had left them as nothing, especially because I firmly believe that organized religion is all about money and has nothing to do with faith. My kids are learning alot about the Jewish religion and so far the only thing they don't like is having to go to religious school twice a week. And I agree with Memoirgirl that belonging to a temple is EXPENSIVE!! Our kids bar/bat mitzvahs will also be at home or in the social hall at the temple, they will not be the huge elaborate parties that we have been to for members of my husbands family. Our temple actually tries to talk families out of that type of celebration.

Hi there! I'm not very religious, but I do belong to a synagogue. My oldest just started religious school.

I <3 The Levees!! Great video & thanks for creating this group. I was raised Lutheran (sort of), but converted to Judaism in my 20's, but not for a guy. I converted b/c at age 9 I decided I wanted to be Jewish, just knew it was the "right" place for me spiritually. But now at age 41, even though I still identify most w/ Judaism (as far as religions go), I'd just call myself super spiritual and not religious as all. So, I guess I don't know WHAT I am. Halp!

Hey, Shawnev: I give your props for doing it your own way and not succumbing to societal pressure. I think you are right about how our economy is going to force more people to be innovative and more thrifty. A celebration is a celebration, right?

I'm planing my 12 year olds Bat Mitzvah for Feb 14th . We are doing this the old fashion way AT HOME not thousands of $$$$$$ Maybe we will set a new standard about not out doing each other at BAR /BATS , in this time when things are so bad in the ecom
