I work full time at the Lazboy galleries in New york...I work so many hours I decided to bring my knitting with me.

Instead of turning your work over to knit back across what you already did, you follow yourself. So you knit in your fist cast on stitch. ( I think, I'm confusing myself) search youtube..They have awesome videos also.

I'm not quite sure what she means though when she says:" when making that first "joining" stitch (which joins the work in the round), if you knit the first stitch holding both the working yarn and the tail of your cast-on stitches,"
wouldn't that turn it into two stitches made from one, there would be two loops cause there would actually be two tails!

I did a scarf and baby afghan as my first projects..they were straight knit/purl patterns.

I just tried to make a pair of socks and I just can't get the first and last stitches to connect properly!
