twitter moms: the influential moms network

Hi
I am putting together a book for parents of newborns. Any tips for low-cost ways for new mom's to pamper themselves? I am really after your own ideas/stories of what you did to feel pampered - especially during that crazy first 8 weeks.

I took full advantage of all the help that was offered to me. Instead of feeling like I should be up & doing chores things, I really allowed myself to get past the guilt, cuddle w/my newborn propped up by pillows & cozy blankets with my feet up, my water and a magazine or the tv and just enjoyed! It's really the only time you truly get a good excuse not to do anything. :)

My best money saver tip isn't really pampering, although it was a great stress relief off of me and my husband. I had prepared meals and froze them so I didn't have to deal with new baby schedule and attempt to feed our family- way better than eating out on the budget and much healthier too. I also asked for a really nice stroller for my baby shower that my friends and family went together to purchase as a gift, and then we went for walks in the neighborhood with the baby. Those tips aren't always ideal for everyone, but they really took some of the craziness out of those first few weeks.

SLEEP--I had twins for my first children and anytime I got sleep was SOOOO great--anytime friends or family came over I would take a nap! Good Luck.
