I am a 24 year old mom to my 5 year old daughter. She is about to start school! I just can't believe it! Anyway, my husband and I have unfortunately had to move in with his parent's in order to save some money to get ahead again. It is not the dream that I want to live. We are getting an apartment to start small in July and I have NEVER had a budget before. Which is why we are in the circumstances that we are in now. I have created a budget for when we get out on our own again, but I am SOOO nervous. Does anyone have any advice about starting out on our own with a first-time budget?

Preach it Cynthia! Hey what Baby Step are you on? You are so correct anyone not knowing where to start should definitely start with Dave Ramsey's book The Total Money Makeover. It will ignite a fire in you for your financial well being you never knew existed.

Just want to say Hey to everyone! I just discovered this budget group and I think it's cool! I LOVE Dave Ramsey's show and book! He has changed my life and the life of my children! My daughter and son-in-law are newlyweds and are on "the plan". My son-in-law got rid of his gorgeous black Nissan Maxima and now has a $500 bright blue "beater" -- I call it his Dave Ramsey car! I am SO proud of him and my daughter! They are livin' like no one else so that later they can live like no one else! The Dave Ramsey Plan Rocks!

Hello everyone! I'm Diamond. I'm in Groveport Ohio a suburb of Columbus. I am a wife of 7 years, together for 10. I am a mother of three, 10 y/o daughter, well she's almost 11. And a set of 6 year old twins, one boy one girl! Hubby and I are on the Dave Ramsey plan and we're on Baby Step #2. This recession doesn't bother me because we have a plan and God is our provider. Just joined your group and wanted to say hello!

Just had a meeting with our financial advisor. He advises we all look deeply at our bills. Those overcharges are more likely going to start showing up more than before.

Oh yes ladies...the almighty budget. I am here this your comments this morning reading. So great to have open conversation. Helpful. As I turn 50 with a son about to go to law school and my now 17 year old about to start college with still my daughter left to go, I am facing the need to stretch that money more than ever.
As I am a musical health song writer, I offer you this song to relax and stretch your body out to today.
