I didn't get Twitter until I downloaded Tweetdeck. Then all was clear to me. You should join and then using Tweetdeck you can see everyone who talks about your book or the topic of your book. It's a great way to be a part of the conversation.

I just signed up with Twitter and didn't get it. I looked into Tweetdeck but haven't downloaded it yet; I wasn't sure of it. Thanks for the advice ~ I'll download it now. What do you think of Tweetergetter? I've been reading a little about it; and again, I'm not sure of it.

And learn about hashtags so you can guide your Tweets toward your audience and they can see your Tweets.
I'm struggling with this Twitter thing too, but one thing I can tell you, is that if you register your blog with Twitterfeed, then it automatically gets posted each time you have a new blog post. So, that will save those five minutes.
