I was just wondering what you do when you have reached your storage capacity for photos on your blog. I am with blogger and I know that you can purchase storage, but I don't know if I want to spend money on that. I was just wondering what other's have done.

I opened an account on photobucket. I upload pictures and I use the html code to place the photo into my post. Photobucket has been really easy for me to use. My only trouble is that I can't access it from my husband's computer due to his firewalls that block any hint of porn. Some people aparently post nasty pictures through photobucket, but if you stay on your page only (like I do) then you won't see any questionable stuff. Hope this helps.

Thanks. I have a photobucket account, but didn't realize / think about that.

The problem with photobucket is that you only have a small amount of bandwidth a month. And once you use your bandwidth, all of your images will be replaced with a message that you have exceeded your bandwidth.

I would try opening a Picasa account. It is opened by Google too.

As for the space on your blog...how long have you been blogging? My guess is that you are uploading HUGE images, which is taking up space. I would suggest going through and deleting some or resizing them. I have been blogging for 3 years and EVERY post has at least one picture (over 1500 posts) and I am only at 7%.

Oh, and one more thing. If you upload your images at full size and choose to have them show as small images, you are still using the space of the large image.

I have a Picasa account too. I have been blogging for less than 2 years. How do I resize the photos?

I use Photoshop, but you can use any photo editing/resizing software. There are some online,,,like http://www.shrinkpictures.com/ (I have never used them, they just came up first when I Googled resize images).

Another option is to open another blogger blog and use it to host your pictures. Blogger doesn't have bandwidth restrictions, so that is a better option than Photobucket.
