Question about Disclosure Policy (at the risk of sounding stupid)

  • Rating: No Rating
Everyone seems to have this in their disclosure policy, but what exactly does it mean?

"This blog may contain content which could present a conflict of interest. This content may not always be identified"

I'm trying to imagine someone writing a review or writing about something that would be a conflict of interest to them...and can't come up with an example.

If anyone can help me understand this wording with an example I'd be grateful.

I'm not sure, but I think it means it could be a conflict of interest for the readers, but I'm not sure about the "This content may not always be identified". I've never used that disclosure in my blog.

I know a lot of Women use the wording from here, me included :)

It does refer to a conflict of interest to the reader and possibly a conflict with what the reader thought the blog was about. There are a lot of sponsored posts available for different stem cell treatments, for instance. It's a controversial topic and may not be what some readers want to read about, basically the blogger is not going to put a warning letting you know that a topic is controversial, especially if it's something they are behind.
