twitter moms: the influential moms network

I just switched my blog from Blogger to self-hosted Wordpress. I never figured out Feedburner and now I wish I had! In the switch my subscription feeds were changed to Wordpress's format and I've lost all my subscribers. And in Blogger's blogroll it doesn't update my new posts so they think I haven't posted anything. Anyone suffering like me? I think the switch was for the better, but I'm not enjoying the dip in traffic. Plus, I just posted a giveaway and only have three entries! I'm so embarrassed.

I'm so sorry to hear that. I'm sure that's so frustrated and I wish I could help out. I don't know anything about that. Good luck.

Yep! I'm with you. I stuck with blogger but I changed my blog template and name. I had my blog for two years so I know how you feel! I put the word out but that doesn't mean that people will follow. You really have to go back and dig and start getting those folks to link again!

So sorry to hear that. That's a perfect example of why I preach to bloggers all the time to own your own name. I hope others read this and learn from what happened to you. Hang in there you blog looks great and the traffic will return. Did you list your contest in our contest group?

I moved blogs too, however, both are on blogger. All of my subscribers and followers have not followed me over, yet, either. I do continue posting on the old every now and then and keep reminding my old readers to email me to get my new blog's link. Good luck to you on getting your subscribers back up. Going to check out your blog now.

Thanks, Barbara. I haven't listed it yet. That's my next step :) I did own my own name, but blogger and wordpress configure the feed urls differently and I haven't been able to figure out how to customize the wordpress one to match the old format. Instead, I've finally figured out feedburner so if I need to change it for some reason in the future, the feed with feedburner will stay the same. That's what I should have done from the beginning. There's such a learning curve with the technical side of blogging!

Thanks for your encouragement! My husband and I designed it together. It was so much fun! He has a great eye for design.

I'm still at http://becausebabiesgrowup.com/ but the subscription feed is now http://feeds.feedburner.com/BBGU.

BTW, you made Blogger look GOOD! I'm impressed.
