November

November is American Diabetes Month. At the request of our group member, Penny, Moms for a Cause will dedicate November to raise awareness for diabetes. Thanks Penny! I myself have Type 2 Disbetes and I am still learning.

I am looking for sites and blogs that will help educate, as well as offer links to products for sale. As I build the list, I will post them here.

Group Project:

Do you or a family member have / had diabetes? Share your story this month on your blog and then share with Twitter Moms by coming back here and posting the link. If you don't have or no one in your family has diabetes, you can still help raise awareness. Go to http://www.diabetes.org/home.jsp and read the statistics on Dibetes. Your write-up can be informational, helping others to see there is still so much more that can be done to Kiss Diabetes Goodbye!

Here is our November Discussion for Diabetes link. This is for discussion, support, and more! Please add your post links here as well as email to me. Thanks!

When Nanci Hersh was diagnosed with cancer, one of her first thoughts was, “How do I tell my boys?” Hearing her concern, Nanci’s cousin Ellen McVicker gave her the words she needed to help her explain the unexplainable: mommy has cancer.

Two years later, the cousins decided to help other parents/adults by turning Ellen’s simple yet honest words and Nanci’s exquisite illustrations into “Butterfly Kisses and Wishes on Wings – When someone you love has cancer … a hopeful, helpful book for kids.”

In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, StyleSubstanceSoulu.com is giving away an autographed copy of the book.

I am a working mother of 2 teenage girls. I work in advertising as a commercial producer. I have recently started a website for women with 3 other women, stylesubstancesoul.com/welcome.html

StyleSubstanceSoul.com is a unique website whose mission is to inspire women to live a life of passion, compassion and action. Our tag line is "Look good. Feel Good. Do Good," and we provide lots of great ways to accomplish those goals every week.

As its name suggests, StyleSubstanceSoul.com is a unique website whose mission is to inspire women to live a life of passion, compassion and action by empowering them with heady ideas, practical resources and a fiery community ignited by female energy.

Every four days, we present a carefully-edited selection of what's hot in style, substance and soul - all related to a specific theme. Our audience consists of smart, socially-conscious women who seek out, act on and share important new items, ideas and causes, and our goal is to give them tools to enrich their lives - as well as the lives of others.

We would love to be educated on your causes, products to support these causes and your stories so we can feature them in our newsletters and on our site.

email me at amy@stylesubstancesoul.com so we can work together.

I am a young mother of 3 who was diagnosed last year at 36 with breast cancer. I am on a mission to give young ladies in my position, the information they need as I didn't get at the time and am now paying for it. I have been doing so much research I would love to share.

Hi Mama's!

As an after thought, amidst all the preparation for the Fundraiser I just became involved in (happening on Friday, Feb 20th) it occurred to me that it would be a nice idea to offer Gift Bags at the door to the first 100? people.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to companies, people, organizations who might like to sponsor this part of the event?

any ideas are greatly appreciated!

much love
