I was born and raised in Altoona, Pa. and then moved to Parkersburg, W.Va. with a roomate whom was in college. I have since stayed in the area of W.Va. and across the river in Ohio. I think when I moved away Altoona seemed to expand as far as stores, etc.

Please PA moms we need to speak for our children

The Kids Need Your Help

On May 6, 2009, the Pennsylvania Senate passed SB 850, which cuts access to Pennsylvania’s early childhood programs for approximately 20,000 children. These cuts include Child Care Works, Keystone Stars, Head Start, Early Intervention, Nurse-Family Partnership, and Pennsylvania Pre- K Counts.
In addition to cutting services for 20,000 children, SB 850 would force Pennsylvania to forfeit $60 million in American Recovery and Reinvestment Funds for child care services.

Please visit the PA Promise for Children website for information and sample emails/letters you can send!!

Thank you for your time and support, and for helping make quality early childhood education a priority for your children!!!!

Hello PA moms! I have been having some success supplementing my income as a health educator. I came across a family education program called "It's Cool to be Healthy." Dr. Sheryl Duchess N.D. created the program for kids and families who are struggling to eat healthy diets. I was intrigued because my 4 year old is such a picky eater and I worry about her nutrition constantly. It's mostly a DVD based program and then a discussion about eating habits, lots of good suggestion for parents and some ideas for supplements if you don't feel your child is getting enough vitamins and minerals (uh, hello!). There is full training and support and a lucrative commission pay schedule. If any of you are interested in seeing this program or just want to learn more, let me know! It's very fun, easy to do and quite informative. Many families are benefitting from the program and all I have to do is remind my daughter of the DVD and she'll eat her veggies and quit nagging about the candy - nice!
I'd love to come and do a show for you!

Been to Splash Lagoon many times. Kids love it! Three pools for the little ones and many slides, tubes, and the lazy river. There is an orange rather large slide they let my 2 year old one and he loved it! I was so scared the first time he went down and the lifeguard looked at me like I was crazy, "He'll be fine ma'am." Ugh - I got ma'amed! He and my 4 year old went down it like 50 times and I got over the fear : )

Enjoy it! We're planning a trip to Hershey this July. Anything we should know? Anyone been there recently? How's the Hershey Lodge?

Hi everyone,
I was a NE PA mom for 15 years. I just moved across the Delaware to NJ in the Phillipsburg/Easton area of the river. Just wanted to introduce my self, since I just joined Twitter Moms. I now have a home based business in Milford, NJ and sell on etsy. I'll be posting in monthly products soon, so check me out please if you like handmade soap, bath and body treats!
Thanks

In response to Annette earlier, the Ship did burn down, it's like 10 min. from my house. My husband grew up near there and remembers it well. I never had the opportunity to see it as I moved to Schellsburg 7 years ago but have heard stories. beautiful spot is was in.

My mom lives in Edinboro Jeanette, and we visit often. Have you been to Splash Lagoon?
