Just curious if your boys are crafty and if so how do you organzie crafty stuff and what do you have? I am not crafty at all and so I am at a loss for how to get them started
Yes, very but they are still 4 and 5. They have a tool box, a couple zip-up plastic comforter bags, and a craft cabinet full of a little bit of everything like:
brushes, poster paint, finger paint, fabric paint, pipe cleaners, foam sheets, felt sheets, construction paper, scrap paper for collaging, yarn, glue sticks, elmer's glue, scrap tissue paper, extra plastic containers like crystal light and butter spread, scrap magazines to cut up, coloring books, shrinky dink sheets, crayons, coloring pencils, magic markers, pom-poms, magic mold crayon clay, a jar of pinecones, marbles, cement mix, square molds, plaster of pair container, ladybug and dinosaur plastic push molds, flat marbles, wooden dowels (to make finger puppets), craft sticks, funfusion kits with plenty of beads, plastic and foam beads.
You may want to start with a couple of craft kits or a project book using one crafting medium and build from there. See what they are interested in. My youngest loves to make anything that deals with bugs while my oldest is a little scientist and loves dinosaurs and robots. My husband and the boys recently picked up a Mould and Paint dinosaur kit.
Oriental Trading Company -- will get you started on projects, or it can give you ideas. You normally have to buy bulk, but it's great for play dates, birthday parties, etc... Local craft stores are full of ideas as well.
