Did you have a vaginal birth with your twins/multiples? Or did you have a C-Section, or both?

I am happy to say that i had a vaginal birth, it is what i wanted. But, if i hadnt pushed the boys out when i had, they would have cut me open . Their heart rates were dropping. But with the help of a vacuum and forceps, they came out. I hated the forceps though!

Oh i forgot to add that my boys came at 33 weeks and 5 days. They were in the NICU for 3 weeks before they came home. They just needed to learn their sucking reflexes and have their NG tubes taken out, and then they were good to come home!

I had a vaginal birth with my twins. I was strongly opposed to a c-section since I had two other kids at home I had to come home to care for. I was induced at 38 1/2 weeks after much begging. Annie came fast and furious, but Izzie decided to go back to being breech. After 10 minutes of turning her, she was born. I had a very uneventful pregnancy~no bed rest, no other issues. And the girls will be 2 in January!

Vaginal birth for me. Had every complication in the book with the pregnancy, but babies were born healthy 34 1/2 weeks. Baby B - Umbilical cord came out with Baby A ;-) - used the vacuum to get baby B out quick. The girls were ready to come home right away - but mommy had some recovery to do... kidneys decided they'd been working too hard, they decided to go on strike for a few days. All is well, babies are lovely young ladies now!

C-section. Wasn't my preference, but I had severe pre-eclampsia, and one of my boys was breech while the other was transverse. Mine were born at 33 wks 5 days also, and spent 22 days in the NICU. They had a rough time at first because of health issues resulting from both TTTS and being premature, but they have thrived since then. Now they are big, strong 7-yr-olds :).

I had the double whammy. My daughter I had vaginally, but my son refused to turn after 15 minutes of trying to get him to turn (breech). He was a full pound heavier than his sister so the doctor didn't want to risk a vaginal breech birth. So I ended up having him via c-section. I had them at 37 weeks and 2 days.

C-Section, They tried to have me deliver naturally but when things started to get risky (fluid retention for me, water broke for over 36 hours, etc.) I had a C-section. I did get to watch the delivery in the mirror so I was able to view each of my sons being born (in between throwing up). The boys were delivered at 36 weeks and 3 days and weighed 6 lbs and 7.5 lbs, neither would have come naturally (umbilical cord for one and face stuck in the birth canal for other) so C-section was the best option. They stayed in the room with us from the beginning and came home with us as well. We were and are blessed every day!

C-Section at 38w1d. I was having NO signs of labor, but my body was breaking down (protein in urine was the main reason).

I am proud to say that they were both vaginal deliveries. They were 36 weeks and Elle (A) was ready to go, but Alex (B) was wanting to stay a bit longer. His placenta tore from my uterus which caused some heavy bleeding. They both went to NICU for 2 weeks for apnea, heart murmurs, and jaundice. I went home after 2 days, and the babies came home soon after. It was a hard delivery, but I am so glad I got to experience a vaginal delivery. So cool!

vaginal. i had to have an episiotomy after two hours of pushing and no edipural. Ouch. Otherwise, that was the easy part of my pregnancy!

My pregnancy was rather uneventful with the only problem being major, severe, awful heartburn. At 38 weeks, the doctor induced me. After 48 hours of trying to have a vaginal birth through the induction, I began to get a fever and wound up with a c-section. The doctor said that they think my uterus was stretched so large from the pregnancy that it could not contract properly. I was 52 inches around my waist at the time they were born.

The recovery from the c-section was easy. It was the 3rd surgery I had in 2 years so I knew what to expect post-op. There was pain but I just did what the doctors said and recovered quickly.

Interestingly, my doctor's practice was to do vaginal birth as long as baby A was head down. They actually preferred baby B to be breach at the time of birth. After baby A is born and if baby B is breach at that point, they usually use their hands to grab baby B's legs and pull B on out without going through additional labor. They also made a huge effort to point out that baby B's position is not as important as baby A. They said once baby A is born, there is so much more room that baby B can shift and turn very quickly. At any rate, that was not an issue for me because we wound up with a c-section.

Hi there, I had boy/girl twins at 37 weeks. Jude the first twins was head down and in position for a vaginal birth, but Blair couldn't make up her mind. She flipped head down one week to feet first the next. So the week before our scheduled delivery she had flipped back to feet first. They decided we would try for a vaginal delivery with Jude and then try to turn Blair. When that was unsuccessful I pushed her on down, they broke her water and delivered her feet first. It was really went pretty smooth. I was glad to have a vaginal birth, because we had a 20 month old at home.

I was lucky the presenting twin was head down and so was able to deliver vaginally. My first son came out with about three pushes, but is brother had to be turned (he was transverse) and came out a whopping 45 minutes later! A lot less complicated than I thought, as far as their birth. But, they did have to stay in the NICU for about a week, and that, I was totally unprepared for. It felt so strange to leave the hospital with out them.
