twitter moms: the influential moms network

My 11 year old daughter has always had a temper. But lately she's been flying into violent rages over trivial things, like me asking her to take a shower. She tries to hit me, either with her fist or an object, and if I hold her arms, she moves on to kicking or headbutting me. She's 5' tall and very strong. I am at my wits end, I've tried taking away privilages when she does it, but that doesn't help. I need to seek outside help, but I don't know who to go to. Her doctor? Someone else?

Sending you big hugs and much endurance!
I have an adopted brother who has many congenital birth defects, when the teen years hit wow, so did his temper. The only thing that popped into my mind is what is happening to her hormonally now. Perhaps talking with her doctor to figure out is there a schedule to the rages.

That was my bright idea,(sorry I tend to write in sarcasm @ times!) but as you know...you know your kiddo best and will make the right decision for her and you.

Trust in yourself and hang tight baby!
