Anyone use social media (like Facebook) for their older SN teen?

I have a 16 (almost 17) yo boy with Downs, and I was hoping he could connect with other teens like him in a group somewhat like this. I tried a Facebook acct, but it was too confusing for him to really understand what was going on. He's great on the computer, and loves to mess with pictures, but he can't grasp all that writing on the wall isn't specifically TO him.

Anyone know of other groups to plug into? Anyone have any other experiences with SN teens and social media?
