Oh my; I really can't make this stuff up.
I was just checking out the headlines and found
this. A Florida mother is demanding that her daughter's high school stop handing out yearbooks and reclaim those that have already been handed out. It seems that the young girl in question had her picture taken with a group. She was in the front row; wearing a skirt; with no panties on; and she didn't cross her legs.
Now mind you; this is not my daughter, so perhaps I would have a slightly different view (no pun intended) if it were, but from where I sit; this young woman should either cover up or cross her legs. There are certain rules to when wearing a dress and sitting down. First, one should wear panties. I realize the young girl was concerned with panty lines, but that is why they made thongs. Second, if you just can't stand the dental floss feel of said thongs; cross those legs little missy.
This mother is asking the school to undertake a huge expense in not only recalling all the books handed out, but destroying each and every book and then, reprinting them without the "let it all hang out" picture. They did not make her daughter expose herself. This was not a "Girls Gone Wild" video shoot. This was a group picture with a girl that was the only person in the room fully aware she was not wearing undies. She made the decision to sit where the possibility of exposure was high and now wants to blame the school?
In all honesty; had they kept their mouths quiet (and her legs properly crossed) the chance of anyone noticing something would have been slim to none. My high school yearbook was over a thousand pages. Yes, I went to a big school, but I can assure you; the only pictures I paid that much attention to were my own. I did not spend hours trying to find someone that gave the money shot.
In fact; an entire class picture of our graduating class had two kids shooting the bird. We had 946 in my class at the time and it was not something that was noticed until one of the boys parents informed the school. We were asked to return the pictures and some poor soul spent a few days placing a large red marker dot over the offending fingers. We were not made to reshoot the picture, nor were we made to destroy the evidence. Had that boys mom not called; it would have caused a few laughs and everyone would have moved on with life.
In my opinion; this girl made a choice and now she must live with that choice. Going commando is something that many people do and there is nothing wrong with that. The problem lies in; if you are having your picture taken and you are sitting in the front row knowing that you are letting it all hang out; have enough sense to cross your legs. Why should this school be forced to expend that kind of money for one girls lack of common sense?
Okay, opening it up for discussion. Is the school responsible for reprinting the yearbooks or is the girl and her family trying to pass the bad decision off on them?
Also, who wants to bet that before this is all over; this young girl receives an offer for a thong commercial?
