As we go about our busy lives trying to make everything perfect for our children, sometimes its good to stop and remind yourself of your favorite memories. I think it makes you realize that pretty invites and perfectly decorated cupcakes are not the stuff of memories. I remember (among other things) family holidays, swimming at the cottage with our cousins and learning how to ski.

My fondest memories especially right now are the memories with my grandmother, spending summers at her house, her teaching me to drive, her taking me to her little country church in Georgia and just her overall wisdom. I lost her in November of this past year and wrote about her in a blog about her life. Thanks today for reminding me of how precious memories are, especially when a loved one is gone.
