Looking for ways to creatively and inexpensively market my workshops and new book...

  • Rating: No Rating
I am doing independent sales for my new book, "The Time-Starved Woman's Guide to Emotional Wellbeing - Tools and Strategies for Balance" by Dr. SD Shanti and Suze Allen -that's me!
I also teach playwrighting and Mama-logues - Writing Workouts for Mamas. Any great ideas on how to get the word out without breaking the bank?
I appreciate any and all comments.
Thanks,
Suze

Hi Suze.
Congratulations on having a published book! Just wondered if you've tried going on blogs and commenting on articles that are along the same theme as your book? Then leaving your website address or contact info when you sign off? If your comments are thoughtful and insightful, people might be inclined to see what else you have to say!

Just a thought. (I've used up my quota for today, so make the next question a 'true or flase', okay? :o)

I am having a book blitz today, actually, hosted by Authors Promoting Authors. She's been great to me, check it out: Authors Promoting Authors Blog

One of the best way I use to promote is by writing book reviews on Amazon.com. If you already have an amazon account all you have to do is find a book, video, or product you've used and write a review on it. On your profile make sure you list your name and website.

If you write interesting reviews, people will be inclined to see what else you've written as well. Amazon also assigns review ranks. The more your write, the higher your reviews will rank.

Social networking is another great way. Don't just show up and say "hey buy my book" but join in on discussions, network with people, and you'll find that people will want to not only support you, but pass the word along to their friends.

Lastly, as a writer you can submit articles to blogs, and web magazines. Many of these offer a byline and a biography that will lead people back to you and your book.

Lastly, check out my online magazine www.ekgliterarymag.com We promote authors in various FREE ways. Check us out and see if we can help you also.

I haven't actually read this book myself, but a friend highly recommended I check out Guerrilla Marketing by Jay Conrad Levinson. It's only around $15 and filled with low- and no-cost marketing ideas. Congratulations on publishing, and good luck!
