Hi There !

The main reason for me was that I had to reboot my pc 3 times and 3 times I completely lost everything I had on the harddisk. All due to virus-stuff although I had all the necessary virus-software on my pc.

Apple is not so much at risk because all 90% of the virusses are written for microsoft and not for mac.
I have been having my Imac and Ibook since 1 year now and at work we use PC.
Everytime I work on them I am glad that at home I have apple YUHUUU

and besides..... aren't they much prettier and classy ??

Hi,
Use Leopard OS not windows. However, if you need windows you can partition your hard drive with Leopard app of Boot Camp. And voila you have windows. So any time you have an app you need that only uses windows you can go to that side of your computer.
No crashes, no virus', looks great, faster, smarter, I love Leopard, its really unbelievable.
I love iDvd, iMovie, iPhoto, Garage Band, and more.
You can even use Microsoft Office for Mac.
They have thought of everything.
If you get a Mac you won't go back to a PC.

My family was an Apple computer fan family. My brother owned the least popular Apple III's as well as an Apple II. I actually owned one of the original 128k box macs back in 1985 (I think that was the year). We still have it somewhere in our garage...lol. Over the years, I have used many different computers. It has been a running theme that my husband is anti-mac and makes fun of a couple of our friends who are avid mac users and owners. Last year when my compac laptop died on me I had to replace it. We went out to look at various laptops, and honestly, I liked the mac the best.

I do use Windoze (mac term) on it but still have gotten very used to the mac.

My husband bought me a macbook two years ago and in that time I've never had a virus. It may have crashed once or twice if I've used an incompatible add-on, but I've never been like, "Gasp! My computer just shut down before I saved my stuff!" That alone is worth it for me.

I chose my MacBook when I decided to go back to college and needed to do so online. Several of the schools did not support Vista and I heard (and still hear) nothing good about Vista. When I realized I would be spending the same for a refurbished XP laptop as a new Vista (did not realize Dell still sold XP at this time), I decided I would rather spend the extra and get a Mac which was compatible everywhere. Besides I had been looking for an excuse to get a Mac! I have Tiger OS and run Windows XP through Parallels (but not that often anymore). I don't have the problems I had on my pc and it was easy to make the switch.

I have been a Mac user since *cough* 1985 ... My first Mac was a MacPlus (just up from my sister 512). I hung on to it for 5 years, designing catalogs and other projects until it was giving up the ghost. Replaced it in 1990 with a Mac IIci that lasted until 1998 when I bought my Mac G3 (blue and turquoise). That G3 lasted 10 years, only to be replaced in May 2008 with my MacBook Pro. As a graphics professional I just can't use anything but a Mac.

I started using Macs in junior high. When I went to art school all the computer labs were mac labs. In 2000 I bought my very own Mac; an eMac - the last model that still booted OS 9 and OS X. It is still running on 10.2 and it has never crashed on me or had a virus. I also have a 12inch Powerbook G4 (my girls use it as well as the eMac) and a 15inch MacBookPro (which I now use exclusively). I work as a front end web developer and I have never had a complaint about any of my Macs.

Depending on what you do will determine which Mac to get. Also, if your hubby is concerned with how expensive they are; consider getting a refurbished Mac. I bought my eMac and my MacBookPro brand new, but I bought my Powerbook refurbished from the Apple store and it was fine. It still works. So, if you need to save some bucks, go the refurbished route.

Because our last PC laptop got four Trojans and a worm requiring it to be brought to the shop and everything on it erased. Luckily I backed up all our pictures and music, but I lost all my bookmarks, etc., and I still have such a long way to go to get back into the swing of things!

I chose an Apple - MacBook Pro to be exact - because after a couple years of having to reinstall Windows every 3 months & starting from scratch each time, I was sick & tired of using it and wanted to get a Mac. When the opportunity for me to get one opened up, I grabbed it and haven't looked back since. It's been just about a year and I haven't had to take my Macbook Pro in for any kind of service, though I did get Apple Care for it. I have longed to have a Mac for many years, and am so glad I've finally got one. Will eventually get one for my son when he gets to high school or college, though probably a refurbished one from the Apple Store. Buying a Mac was the best investment I've ever made.
