twitter moms: the influential moms network

Just curious what kind of projects you guys are working on for Halloween and Christmas. My daughter is 15, and I work from the house so I don't really "do" Halloween anymore. I haven't even started thinking about Christmas gifts yet, but it will be here before you know it! :)

I just bought my first embroidery machine a couple of weeks ago and plan to embroider pretty much anything and everything I can get my hands on for Christmas. LOL! I'd really like to try my hand at a Soduko quilt I saw in a magazine; I think it would be a great gift. I'm also making some purses with key fobs and other accessories and plan to embroider some of those, too.

I know exactly what you mean ~ I'm sure at some point everyone that we get gifts for will tire of monogrammed/embroidered items!! ;D I've never seen a Soduko quilt ~ that sounds interesting ~ I'll have to google it to see some pics ~ I think it would make a great gift! You must sew a lot to be thinking of quilts and purses and key fobs ~ fun! I would love to see some pictures of your finished projects! I sew as well, but I don't sew as much as I should :)

Great blog - just reading some of your ramblings...

I bought some red baby wale cord and some cream colored tulle back in the summer for the girls' Christmas dresses. Now I need to decide on the pattern and get to work!

Hi. New to this whole Twitter Moms thing! I've been running an embroidery web business out of my house for several years now. I stay home with my 2 year old. I recently started making pillow case dresses for girls and these are the ones I created for Halloween and Christmas.

I do custom sewing/embroidery out of my home. I've been commissioned to sew and embroider a Christmas tree skirt with a Disney theme. My more immediate plans is to embroider some Halloween candy holders. My children can give them to friends at school. My older children do this since they don't dress up but still like to celebrate. I've been debating whether to do Christmas stockings for my family. Little Man is still using a stocking that says "Baby's First Christmas". He just turned 3 yrs old. LOL

I need new stockings too ~ something to think about!! Do you think you will make them and embroider them or buy and embroider?

I'm very new to Etsy! I thought it would be a good place to get a little more business. I think Etsy is fabulous. I gave up on ebay a while back.

I put your blog on my RSS feed. And I joined your Yahoo board, too! I don't know if I have time for all this, but I'll try!

Dena. Love your Christmas dress. Very cute. I also make pillowcase dresses. I love to see how other people put their ideas to work.

Hello all! I'm new to Twitter, brand new to Monogram Moms, but not new to Angie (AKDesigns) :) Angie has digitized some wonderful designs for my little business, Elle Belle and some side work I've done for friends who know I embroider.

I've been insanely busy, so I'll be beyond happy if I manage to make it through Halloween and still remember my name... I'm not even considering Christmas yet :)

I didn't make a gift for my little one's 3rd birthday (although I did embroider 12 ladybug blankets, her outfit, a T shirt for me, make 8 sack race sacks, and 10 bottles of bubble solution) and the guilt has me gearing up for a super Super Hero Halloween costume. I cheated a bit and bought a blank cape from Superfly Kidz on Etsy (I'm totally addicted to Etsy!). But I still need to come up with a design to embroider on the back of the cape as well as on a little red top I picked up for her. We picked out some blue with white stars knit fabric to make a circle skirt from, which I'm a bit nervous about because it'll be my first attempt at working with knit, and some yellow vinyl for the belt, cuffs, and head thingie.

Looking forward to getting to know everyone!
Stacey
