Okay, I'm still trying to figure this twittermoms/groups thing out, I don't know when or if people get notice when I post something to where and if they get text messages or email... I'm confused, so I don't know if I'm putting this in the right spot, I only know that I need some embroidery design help so maybe one of you can set me straight with regard to the design and also if I've made some twitter group faupaux.
Here's the deal. I'm making a super hero costume for my 3 year old and I want to make a simple shield with a capital E in it to embroider on her cape and shirt. I'm thinking the shield should be applique and the E would show through the fabric it's stitched on (the satin from the cape or the red cotton shirt) but I'm not super married to that idea. I bought a shield "frame" running stitch and satin stitch online but I'm having problems figuring out how to get the E looking like I want it. Using custom works I can stretch the E out to better fit the shape of the shield, but I need to do it twice, once in running stitch and once in satin and I can't figure out how to recreate the running stitch E once I've "distorted" it so that I can have the duplicate in satin stitch.
I'm wondering if I'm going about this wrong in the first place... I attached a screen shot of where I've gotten to so far.
Does any of that make sense? I'd so appreciate any feedback!
Thanks,
Stacey
