For those moms in NY, wanted to mention I saw a Broadway show last night that I'd highly recommend. It's called God of Carnage, and if you've ever had a playdate gone wrong, you'll totally relate to this. Very well written/performed.

Just wanted to say hi to all you moms. I also became a mother later then sooner. Didn't start dating my hubby until the beginning of 2007, had my little one in 2008, got married in 2008, and now we are trying to conceive another.

Hi everyone,
I 've known DH for 10 years before we finally get hitched. We both had travelling jobs and it was difficult to settle down until I hit 35 and my biological clock ticking loudly away.. I was running out of time! We got married when I was 35, got pregnant with our first child immediately! Lucky us! I had my son when I as 36 and a daughter at 39... 2 months shy of 40!

Motherhood completely change me... so my friends tells me. My career was great, I travelled all over world and get to do all the things I wanted to do...when the kids came along, I was ready to settle down and enjoy them. There no " what ifs" ... for me ...it's been there, did that!

My DH is an airline pilot so he's away most of the time, so I quit my travelling job and run "our" corporation. It's been very "profitable" and rewarding! What can I say! I am more patient, more accepting and more open. I have learned that in a career you can be demanding and driven but with kids, they dance to their own beat. There's so many things you cannot control. I am now an involved mom, I volunteer at school, I coach them personally. I am now a WAHM and loving every minutte of being Mommy!

hello All,
I had my daughter 6 weeks before I turned 37 and my son when I was 40. I had trouble carrying my pregnancies, first due to uterine fibroids and the second due to luteal phase defect (low progesterone) and had a miscarriage before each child. I realize that having my kids later was a huge contributor to these problems.

However, While I can't say that I am "ultra mom", I do believe that I am a better mom being older. I had my chance to travel, work in my chosen career and be independent during my single days (I got married at 35). It's still hard sometimes when sacrifices have to be made (as it's always me and not my hubby but that's for another post), but I don't feel as angry as I could because I know that I've had "the footloose time" and will have it again. For now I can focus more on my kids.

Hi there everyone. I had my son 18 days before I turned 37. It wasn't my choice to wait that long. It's been a little difficult for me. It was much more difficult for me at first. I'd gotten so used to just picking up and going anywhere I wanted when I wanted. Though I love my son dearly, it's definitely been a huge adjustment for me. Thankfully my son's daddy is in both our lives. After I went back to work in January this year, seeing my son starting bringing me more joy. Now, I enjoy more of the things that used to frustrate me.

The thing I love most though, is seeing his teeth showing, ear to ear smile.

INTERVIEW OPPORTUNITY
Health magazine is looking for women who have been pregnant in their 40s and 50s to interview for a piece about pregnancy and motherhood after age 40. We're looking for moms who conceived naturally as well as those who used IVF, either using their own or donor eggs. We are also interested in speaking to moms who had an "oops" pregnancy in that age range. If you are interested, please email the writer, Hallie Levine Sklar, at hzlevine@aol.com. This will run in their June issue. Tell her MotherhoodLater.com referred you.
