Hi! I'm new around here...while I am pregnant and have young children, I also have a naturally parented 17yo, 16yo, 13yo and 10yo (also 4yo and 1yo). The older three are in public school for the first time this semester. Oldest hates it and is leaving at the end of the year, 2nd loves it and 3rd still on fence!

Hi! Nice to find this group. I have two boys, Josh is 5 and Zack is 10. We did the whole AP thing from the beginning with my oldest and have certainly had many challenges on the way! I have started lots of parenting groups, from attachment groups, API groups, and LLL groups, all really in an effort to create a support network for myself and to meet other like-minded people. My latest passion is Consciously Parenting, which I founded in 2007 to create support for parents. It is an internet-based organization, unlike my previous groups. It is based in research (neuroscience, biology, attachment theory... just to name a few) and these pieces have really helped me to fill in those missing in my own parenting journey and the parenting blueprints I started out with. It is really cool that the research supports natural parenting- connecting with the child in relationship rather than just trying to make a child do something... it is so congruent with what I feel in my heart is right.
I'm a WAHM and I work mostly at night when my kids are (supposed to be) sleeping. I teach classes over the phone and also do phone coaching to support parents through those stuck points. I also work a lot with adoptive families who are struggling with difficult behaviors and how to shift perspective so that those are actually opportunities to connect in relationship. The paradigm works for all families, though.
So, I'm here to share what I know and to find community with other like minded mamas! Thanks for having me!

Hi everyone!
I have 3 kids, oldest daughter is 11, son is almost 10 and baby girl is 4. The kids are trying out public school this year after homeschooling for the last 3 years. I never knew there was a name to the type of parenting that my husband and I did from day 1! We had the family bed, still do with the 4 yr old sometimes lol, breastfed with the last baby, non-medicated birth (doula with the first one), SAH...

Hi everyone,
wow, there is so much going on here on twittermoms, I can't keep up with it.
My kids are really older, my daughter is 14 and my son is 18.
I am SAH, homebirthing, attachment parenting, extended breastfeeing, no vaccines, LLL leader, loving guidance, homeschooling, organic fanatic...ha ha what else can I say.

My daughter is in a public HS now and my son is in college.

Really things are a lot different for me, I will be an empty nester soon, in about 3 years. I miss my son terribly but know he is loving being away in college and doing well.

My daughter has made so many changes this year, she is also doing great and we have an open relationship where we talk about all the things that are going on for her, I am so lucky, things are great between me and my kids in their teens.

Great to meet you all.

Hi Mel!!

Great to have you here!! I have a 9 year old daughter as well, and a 12 year old son. We did cloth dipes, extended breastfeeding, unmedicated childbirth, positive discipline, etc. I was the weird granola mom among my friends here in Atlanta :). Found lots of support on the net, but now that my kids are older, it is a little harder. I'm kind of half-crunchy myself, I guess i'd say :)

I hope this can be a great support group. I definitely don't want it to be a judgment type place, like "oh, you didn't breastfeed/family bed, whatever, so we don't want you." I figure that moms that show up here will have some common interests and issues, and are looking for support with their choices that *aren't* so mainstream. Hope that makes sense!!
