What kitchen tools can't you live without???? I HAVE to have a blender for smoothies and blending whole grains for soaking. (I use and really like Sue Gregg's recipes for grains.)

What foods do you HAVE to have in your house at all times? For us, it's our kombucha "mushroom" and raw milk. I don't ever want to run out of these! And I really don't want my sourdough starter to die!

Kitchen tools...can't live without...

Cuisinart Blender as it makes great green smoothies, when starting from scratch and having to finely cut and blend the raw greens. Food processor for making great salads that are easy to chew....carrots, beets etc. that can be put in with your greens. I also like it for making up my raw dog food mixture, as well.

Foods: Greens, greens, greens! Saugeen yogurt, which is like a European yogurt...I buy this. Lots of fresh fruit and vegetables, Essential Balance 3-6-9 oil for salads etc. Organically grown almonds, walnuts, dates...I read that a person can live on 4 or 5 dates a day, if necessary!

My Golden Grain mill and DLX mixer, couldn't live without them. I make my own bread and everything is made from scratch.

The VERY backbone of my kitchen, utensil-wise, is my huge stainless steel stock pot!!! I always drag it along when I go for more than a day or two, cuz the first thing I do when I get somewhere is start a 24 hr bone broth. Lost track of how many times that ole' Revere Ware stockpot has crossed the Pacific, ha!

Blessings!

My Bosch (mixer & blender combo) and my Whisper Mill to grind wheat. When I first started grinding wheat to make bread I got tendonitis after just a couple of weeks making bread for my big family. The Bosch will mix 5 large loaves of bread at one time, and I bought the cookie dough and whisk attachments, so I can my quadruple batches of everything. Food wise - raw goat milk, farm fresh eggs, wheat, butter, and raw honey could keep us going for a long time! We also eat alot of oats, black strap molasses, and flax seed ground fresh when we need it. I haven't experimented with komucha, but I do drink a komcucha green tea. Meat wise we eat alot of wild venison, and chicken. And of course fruits and veggies - I prefer in season local things when possible.

Hmm, couldn't live without my garlic press, blender (thinking about getting a vitamix...suggestions?), rice cooker, crock-pot, kitchen aide (though I wish I had a bosch), and breadmaker (though I wish I could find one with a stainless steel pan).

Staples: homemade spelt bread, almond milk from scratch, chicken stock, granola...all my recipes are on www.thedailydelights.com

All this food talkin' is making me hungry! :)

I sure didn't pick up much from my mom or grandparents, even tho all we had was homecooked meals. And even tho I helped in the kitchen. Just was a super-spacey kid. Had to learn everything on my own later. My poor husband!

Blessings...
