Julie, I responded to one of your posts on SmartNow last night but didn't know that was you. What a small Internet when you get women and moms together.
I actually rarely blog about politics. My family reads my blogs, as do my in-laws. All of which are staunch republicans. That's choppy waters, and I hate family feuds. Especially when it's 1 against 30.
I do blog about politics but I've calmed down some and just post opions and funny things I find. Now on twitter I tend to go all out, rant and rave, because I know my follows are of a like mind and I don't have to worry about being bashed for what I believe in.
I had never (and had always said I would never) blog about politics because I have so many friends that have differing political views than I. However, after Sarah Palin was chosen as McCain's running mate and my friends (who I apparently give way too much intellectual credit at times) acted like she was the best thing ever I couldn't stay quiet anymore! I have been vocal on Twitter, my personal blog and will continue to be until the election. This election is too important to worry about losing followers, potential clients, etc. over. People need to be educated on the real issues and understand the ramifications of another four years of the same or we are in BIG trouble as a nation!

That's a riot! It is very weird that they aren't using our last names and won't link to us...not sure I'm psyched about that! Can't wait to read your comment.

Yeah....my family and in-laws read mine too. They're mostly moderate democrats but I make most of them super uncomfortable with my bullhorn and enthusiasm. I've stopped caring because progress and change only happen when people decide to get loud and say what needs to be said. (but I totally understand where you're coming from - Thanksgiving dinner is no fun when you're by yourself at the kids table because nobody will speak to you ;) )

Julie, have you said anything to the Julie or Lynn at SmartNow? It seems they're very open for suggestions and I can understand why you would want your last name and/or a link for your posts.
