twitter moms: the influential moms network

I'm fairly new to on-line marketing. In fact I got into on-line marketing because of the marketing person I hired. I am a Certified Life Coach, with no marketing talent so I hired someone to help me. I am definitely getting a lot of traffic to my blog. So I'd like to start a discussion by sharing what's working for me...I blog 4-5 times a week. I blog about topics that pertain to coaching clients, I now twitter, I join discussion groups on blogging sites, I participate in them....

Well I can tell you as a Marketing Specialist myself. People Online do business with People they get to know and Trust. People they feel are just like them.

So When I started out having a degree in Marketing but being as green as GRASS back in 1999 I make lots of Mistakes.

But I am a Natural Networker, so I landed on ivillage.com and I soon became involved with Various Board and chats there. I also learned they where no very Home Business Friendly. I later learned that it was Because they felt that homebaser where competing with their SPONSORS the people that paid them to gather your personal shopping and other information for them. But still I ended up Volunteering for Two years as a Community Leader.

I ran 4 boards for them. Work at home, Direct Marketing (I talked them into adding that one) Marketing Your Business, and Online Schemes and Scams( Also my idea) and I ran some chats. Monday Night Marketing Ideas, and Brainstorming Your Business. So I developed a following.

I truly believe that LIVE and Personal Networking is the Best Way to insure your Meeting Real people, People that are interested in what you have to say and have to offer. That those that spend hours posting ads are missing the boat. but someone told them it was a great idea LOL

When you connect with Live People you get instant feedback and since we not face to face like when someone walks into and office or store you get to share who you are through your KeyBoard. Not always just to make a sale, they come and go but to build your contact lists, Referral base, and a whole New Warm Market online.

To me my contact list is a well that give back over and over again when a sale may or may not be a one time thing. Network is more High Touch and Long Term.

We offer many ways and Opportunities to connect live and in person online and we are always looking for more Bright People to come in and Share and Brainstorm with us at the SBRN and Expo-Connector Event Center.
I also love IM not for Advertising but for Follow up with all my Members and Contacts.

Cheers,
Nanc Johnson

I joined "Renegade University" (free) and also bought Ann Sieg's book ". "The Renegade Network Marketer" I'm someone who does better with someone helping me, so I'm part of Renegade Professionals where I can get step-by-step instructions on exactly how to market myself and my opportunity online. I've found this to be really helpful and a great investment in myself.

Well, I have owned an online consignment shop since April, and before that I was marketing several informational websites.
My consignment business recently added a B&M store, so we are marketing both online and offline. And - this is the best part - on basically no budget.

What has worked for me:
Online
Get listed in as many directories as I could.
I looked up my competition on http://www.linkpopularity.com and see where THEY were listed - then I submited my listing as well.
Craigslist.com - It's free, and I submitted ads about my business and about my products. Even before I opened the store, we saw quite a bit of response.
Use charity work to help boost sales - My WHOLE business is based on giving back to the community. I raise money for schools and nonprofits. If given the choice between my business and a local competitor, most people would choose me because they know their purchase will be giving back to the community. Your business does not have to be quite as involved, but offering to give a % back to a chosen charity (even if just for 1 day) will bring in new customers, and those customers may return...with their friends...
Unique promotions - I'm currently collecting TShirts from all over the US. Once we have collected all 50, we will be auctioning them off on eBay, and the profits will go to a charity chosen by someone in our community. I know that we have a HUGE "Kids Fest" in May, so this will be set up at a booth. Rather than just telling about my products, I'll be offering a unique opportunity for people in the community to get involved.
Cross Promote - I just hooked up with - get this - my competition, and we have found a way to cross promote, and work together on promotions to boost business for BOTH of us rather than just competing and taking away from one another. I've also hooked up with several other local businesses and will be planning promotions with them.
I could go on, but you get the idea. There are a million ways to make advertising and marketing successful. Most importantly, know your target market. Find out where they are and what they are interested in, then catch their eye with something unusual. (Look up guerilla marketing on google...)
Good Luck - If I can do this, so can you...

There are many marketing tactics that worked for me. However, a tactic that works for one person may not work for another, but listening to others' successes can give you ideas. That being said, I used a combination of traditional and internet marketing for my business. Not only one thing worked but a combination.

I am sharing all of my marketing information at www.marketingforwahm.com. This is not a solicitation but an honest answer to the question because there is just so much material to cover.

But for a quick overview, what worked for me was email marketing, postcards, trade shows and a targeted web presentation.

You hired a coach. There is a lot of coaches and mentors that share information for free.

These are the coaches and mentors that I need to find. I'm already on a tight budget. Start up is killing me (website development and all that goes with it) the last thing I can afford is to pay yet another person.

You've created a blog with a perfect focus. Virally word of this blog is spreading around the infinite web. Just ask yourself two questions and thus ensure your continued success. Does my blog offer trust between myself and my audience? Is the content constantly fresh and interactive?

With a boon in your blog's population and positive answers to the two questions above, you are squarely on track.

I read blogs by marketing experts like

http://www.iyazam.com/index.html
http://www.customerflypaper.com/
http://www.problogger.net/

I have spent some time learning the different social networking sites. I think this site has helped the most and I have attracted the most attention as a result of being a part of twitter moms. Now I am dealing with blogger block so I have not posted much lately.
