I sell lia sophia Jewelry and Avon and I have really noticed a drop in sales the last several months. Anyone else noticing any changes? How do you deal with it? What kind of incentives are you offering?
Not mine..I'm in the Romance & Chocolate Biz and everyone still loves chocolate and everyone still wants Roamce in their lives so I luckily haven't felt the cruch as of yet..but I'm praying for all those who it is affecting..Hugs Evelyn
Perhaps it could be your location too. Don't worry this will not last long! My sales have decreased slightly.. (we lost 2 factories locally) but I travel to do parties and this helps.
Avon is just a tough biz! I just signed up with them 2 weeks ago. Been there before and that is why my primary business will always be romance! Not plugging myself but maybe you should check into this. Check for local reps and see if this would be something you would be interested in offering.
I'm in the kids birthday party biz and yes, bookings have decreased in the last few months, however I could say it's just because of the holidays....I guess time will tell - GL to all of you!
I am with Gold Canyon, Candles, Body and Home products (www.wix-n-stix.com). We Offer a complete line of candles, body and home products including home fragrance in the form of scented candles, Room Sprays and Sachets, eco-friendly, natural, green cleaning products (HOMEOLOGY), home décor with various candle holders; spa products with EMERGE and candle care products such as wick dippers and trimmers.
I have not seen a decline in my business, in fact my business has been growing with the great incentives that my company offers our customers. I have found that people like their homes to be clean and fresh, and when they are looking to relieve stress and even create romance, they turn to me for candles and spa products. PLus with the awesome incentives for joining our business (only $10 in January when you do $350 in sales your first 30 days) people have been calling me to help replace the income they have lost in getting laid off.
One of the biggest selling points in my business is that we give money through our "Candles for Kids" program to local families that have children with physical and medical disabilities. I have had 4 children in my school district get $1000 a piece from this foundation, and others on my team have had over $15,000 given to families that they know, so it is a great program that is giving to the people who nee dthe money and that gives me the greatest joy of being part of this company.
I would love to talk more with you about getting people to come to you for business... If you are a member of the DSWA I would recommend going to local meetings in your area, because those people will help you build your business! If you have questions about my business, please do contact me and I will answer any questions you have! Hope this helps you out!

I run a website for stallholders, events, fundraising and party plan/MLM. Have to say it's been really busy over the last couple of weeks with lots of new listings and events beeing added to our database so business is good for us. I think many people are trying to grow their home businesses and are looking to advertise and promote themselves as much a possible via events etc. Also many people are starting to make things and sell them as a way of bringing in more money and are looking for craft fairs, markets etc to sell at.
Gail.
I haven't seen a decline in business, if anything, things have ramped up a bit more than usual. I am putting in more effort, so that could have something to do with the results, too ;)
Dawn i haven't noticed it too bad. When a hostess doesn't think their friends will come because of lack of funds, I am telling them don't decide for your girlfriends what they want to spend money on. Even though times are tough we all pick and choose what we want to pamper ourselves with. I also know that with people staying home more they still want to have their homes smelling nice (with the partylite candles) and alot of people just love the products.
BTW I have a free shipping event going on as an incentive until Feb 15. So that is one thing I am doing to boost sales. Plus it will be going to a church fundraiser I am running on Feb 15 ~
