Kid friendly video camcorder

Hi, I am looking for a review on camcorders for kids. I would like to get my almost 7 year old son a camcorder for christmas. I've seen some by Discovery Kids, Poloroid, and also the Flip camcorder. I am looking for something that he can take good video with but will survive the bumps from a 7 year old. I don't want the vtech as the video quality is not good, imho...
An SD card or a usb connection are a necessary. My son is very techically savvy so getting him a real camcorder is okay but they just aren't durable enough...
Anyone have any recommendations?

We love our Flip camera. We got it when my daughter was 8 and son was 3.5 and they both used it and loved it. Very simple to operate and the kids also enjoyed the playback feature on the camera, so you can watch it (very small though) right there. Uses AA batteries and very compact. They've come out with a few versions since we bought ours, and even though well used, ours is doing fine. You may consider looking for a used one on ebay or craigslist if you aren't up for spending for a new one. Good luck!
