My best suggestion is to join some professional photography forums where photographers hang out. A good starter one is www.ourppa.com. It is free and there are archives of stuff for people starting out, including business, pricing, critiques, etc. There are also tons of people willing to help.

Oh, and join your local PPA affiliate- that is a great place to network with the photographers close to you - and they are more than willing to support your business. Newbies are very welcome.

There are a couple of others that are good, but you want to be a working professional before you dive into them.

And check out your local PPA affiliate. Membership is usually around $100 a year, there are terrific networking and learning opportunities there. Newbies are very welcome.

Welcome...i'm still trying to figure all this twitter stuff out :) I like the name of your biz! I tried to start one for real estate photography and it didn't work out...anyway mine was called In His Light Photography.

Diane - Thanks. I've gotten to know a lot of photographers locally through Flickr and other groups and I've joined my local PPA. I've been doing this for about a year now, so I guess I'd call myself a "working professional"! LOL!
