How to Begin?

I have several blogs and at least two of them need some sort of podcast. The problem is that I have no idea where to begin. The next problem is that I haven't really convinced myself that podcasting is necessary.

So I don't know where to start, if I should start, what should motivate me to start...
I think I'm starting to ramble so hopefully the pros here can help me understand how to make this decision.
