Hi. I am kelley, married with 2 girls, 3 and 1.

I remember writing poetry and stories in elementary school. I remember trying to be the best reader and speller in kindergarten through 4th grade. I discovered poetery in 3rd or 4th grade when turning in an assignment, I had not done my homework and as the teacher requested we pass our poems forward, I jotted a poem down and turned it in. Ironically, my teacher nominated me for a contest and I won. I had to go read my poem at an even in front of many people (being so young i have no idea how many) and was in the paper. I was terrified and embarrassed, (especially since i thought my poem was stupid.)

In 5th grade I teamed up with a classmate (who shared a love of dinasaurs) and we wrote stories together. From middle school to high school I wrote more and more, as an outlet of expression and love, and to deal with fears. I wrote stream of consciousness and pulled poems from one-liners in them, and then pulled stories from those. In college, I cleaned up my poems and 1/2 way through business school thought about changing my major to english, but then realized (with the help of my very wise father) that I would never graduate if I changed at that point.

As I got older and ultimatley had a family, I stopped writing. I felt like I had lost my creativity to fatigue and cynicism. I recently discovered I had not! I just started a blog a couple months ago and I am not writing a screenplay with a dear friend and regardless of being published, I am thoroughly enjoying this creative outlet again!

I just have to take care not to write documentaries when sending a work email! ;-)

Hi, I'm Sula Lee! I have been writing poetry since I was a teenager, and I also love to read it. I just started a blog and I have posted several of my poems there, and will continue to do so.

This blog is for anyone who has been affected by the disease of alcoholism or in-laws who enjoy making life a tad bit difficult!

It is hard enough to raise two young children with someone who struggles with sobriety. Having unsupportive in-laws that tell you that you are poor and stupid doesn’t help.

This blog is my attempt at breaking the cycle of addiction and unnecessary abuse before it hits my own children.

Mark my words, I will do it!
