I am the mother of 27-weeker preemie twin girls. Their website is PreemieTwins.com. If you would like to share your story about prematurity and/or multiples, please submit on site (and you can link out to other sites, including your own)!

Hi! My little girl is 2 months. She was born at 34 weeks due to severe PIH and preeclampsia. She weighed 3 lbs 14 oz and spent 14 days in the NICU. Her next weigh in/doctor's appointment is Thursday. I'm hoping she reached the 6 lb mark!

Hi everybody, I'm a grandma of a preemie. Our little one was due in August and born in April. We say she wanted that diamond birthstone. A whole 1 pound 5 and a quarter oz (gotta get that quarter in there) and 10 in long. It was a really tough road, things done to her little body that just wracked us with grief but we knew that all resources were being done in the NICU to save her life. What a little figthter she was and STILL is. We are celebrating her 2nd birthday soon and gratefull for her everyday. We celebrate all the little milestones. The latest is she broke the 20 pound mark! She is still behind other kids her age but I suspect she will catch up completely by 5 yrs. We are thankful for everyday and what a great cuddler she is. Bless you all on your journey with your preemies.

Hi everyone, I don't have a preemie, but I have the best 17-year-old son who works tirelessly for the March of Dimes (since the birth of our neighbor, Owen, three years ago -28 weeker) He started a cause on Facebook almost two years ago. It has over 300,000 members and he updates it at least weekly with new information. Please join and spread the word. www.causes.com/marchofdimes

Hello to all mommies! I have had 2 preemie boys 8 years apart from each other. My oldest will be 10 this summer & my youngest is 2 also this summer. They were both due in August, and both were born in July! Both times my labor started the same exact way... it was almost so predictable it was scary. I think I'm done having kids, (I also have 2 step kids). If for some reason my husband & I change our mind & decide to have 1 more, I know for sure I'll be on bed rest by my 6th month!

Hello!

I'm new to the site and just came across this group and read some of the stories.

My daughter was born at 34 weeks, weighed 3lbs 15oz. Before I had her I knew absolutely nothing about premature birth or the complications and struggles these little babies can go through.

My daughter was born healthy, no serious complications. She stayed in the NICU for just under a month. She had a feeding tube for the first couple of weeks, as well as being in an incubator to control her temp and a few days with UV lights for jaundice. She also had an oxygen tube for a couple of weeks due to apnea. But, over all she was healthy and just had to gain weight.

It amazed me at the time and still does, at what absolute angles those NICU nurses are. They were so helpful, more so than any doctor I spoke to, and always had answers to questions and concerns. Never too busy to sit with you or help you through a good cry.

I remember the day we got her ready to bring her home and the nurses said we would see them there in the NICU again because preemies are prone to relapse or get very sick easily. Well, I am happy to report that we never did have to go back because our little girl never got sick or relapsed!

My daughter is now a very healthy, energetic almost 3 year old, and she has never had any health concerns. She is not at all behind in a physical or developmental way and we are so blessed to have her!

Hello,

My name is Patrice. I recently joined this website. I must say that this is the first group that I've officially joined. In 2007, I gave birth to an amazing 24 weeker named Deuce. As strong as he was, he faught in NICU for 5 weeks and passed soon after. He touched so many people in our lives. I just wanted to say that I still feel connected, and shortly after his passing, my husband and I became pregnant again with our daughter Zoe. She was born at 36 weeks and is a healthy (fiesty-- just like her brother!) little girl.

So, I just wanted to connect. I know that life in the NICU is a rough journey to ride. Again, I am just still connected.

So, please take good care, and keep in touch.
