My premmie is almost two as well. She was born at 26 weeks and weighed 15oz and was in the NICU for five months. We've been really lucky as she has no ongoing disabilities or illnesses. She does have behavioral eating problems though

She's now busily learning to take off her diapers and drive me a little more crazy then I was to begin with.

Hi, I'm a new twittermom. I am a mom to a term daughter who is almost 9, a 26 preemie son who is almost 6. He was 2lbs 2 oz, 14" long, and spent 4 months in the NICU. He has quite a medical history. His twin, an angel in heaven, lived one week. The twin was 2lbs 6 oz.

Our surviving twin is doing quite well. He is in kindergarten. Although he had lots of surgeries, including PDA, shunt in/shunt out (knock knock) Nissen fundoplacation, he now is quite healthy. He has splenomagly, or enlarged spleen, so no football or hockey!

I also belong to the preemie-child list email group which is for parents of preemies who are over 4 years old. There are a lot of supportive folks on the mailing list so when you get to that point and you have questions about all things preemie, it's a good place to be.

Hello, I am new to twittermoms! My son was born at 29 weeks due to HELLP Syndrome. He spent 69 days in the nicu, weighing 2lbs 3ozs at birth to about 5lbs 6ozs the day he came home, he is now over 9lbs and thriving!

My twins were born at 36 weeks on 04/08/08 with no problems but I am always watchful about development and wondering if they will be a little behind.

Hi all, I just joined twitter moms and have 3 preemies myself:

twin girls born at 26 w, weighing 1.5 pounds each (due to my water breaking at 17w from an amnio). Corinne only lived 4 hours and passed away in my arms, her surviving sister Kaitlyn is now 3 and spent 4 months in NICU and my newborn son was hardly a preemie (born at 34 weeks, 3 weeks in the NICU)

I am the mom to 3 preemies: dylan 25 wk, Olivia 26 wk and Ava 27 wk, all due to preeclampsia. Dylan lived for 5 days. Olivia is almost 5 and Ava is 3. They are both doing great !

I have two preemies. One born at 29 weeks (girl, who is almost 10 now) and one born at 33 weeks (boy, who is now 6 1/2). My son was born with a rare, congenital heart defect, as well as stomach, kidney and eye defects. He had eight surgeries before his fifth birthday and still needs an open heart procedure. We have almost lost him twice, but he is unbelievably strong and totally hilarioius. He keeps me on my toes with his EXTREME honesty...especially with complete strangers.
