Happy Fourth to you all.

Yes, you pay $5 for the first pattern and fabric for a block then every month you bring back the finished block and they give you pattern and fabric for another block. At the end you have 12 blocks for a quilt. This is the second time I've done it. I think I put a picture up of the 12 blocks from last year. I haven't made it into a quilt yet...too many other projects! If not I'll post one. I'm not the best at embroidering. I'm still working on a crazy quilt which has a lot of embroidering. I'd love to see some of the things you've made.

I have been on hiatis from almost everything. Just can't find the gumption to start a project.
Being a lazy daisy is getting old though. My artistic passions are Tole Painting. But I do love to embroder and crochet. What is block of the
month? Is that a quilting block? Sounds interesting.

Welcome Sharon! Are you working on a quilting project right now? We'd love to hear about it. How long have you been quilting or are you pretty new at it?
I cut out two quilts last week but haven't started piecing either of them. We're having out-of-town company and a family reunion so I'll have to put everything away to use my sewing room as one of the guest rooms. I did finish the June block for the block-of-the-month club I go to at our local quilt shop...good to have that done.

P.S. How close are you to Manhattan? Our eldest daughter, Erin, lived in Manhattan on 9/11 close to the Trade Center. They evacuated to Brooklyn. It was an awful experience for her and in December she moved back home. We lived in California at the time and she stayed with us for 9 months until she could get on her feet. Frankly, I loved having her home with us. We were able to visit NY a lot while she was there and stay with her. Our last visit was March 2002.

Never too much information! You've been through a lot! Do you work? Do your children live close? I'm married and we have three daughters, Erin 38 who lives in the San Francisco Bay Area, Jana 34 who lives in Portland and Shannon 30 1/2. Shannon's the only one married and she has a son who turned 4 last week. Unfortunately, they live in Vermont. Thank heaven for Web cams! They are moving back to California next month. We live an hour south of Portland in Salem, Oregon. I wish the girls were closer and truth-be-told, I wish Jana would have a baby!

Hi Evelyn!
You could probably teach me a few things about an online Red Hat group! I'm new to Twitter and thought it would be fun to connect with other women my age. Tell me about yourself. Guess that's a good place to start!
