twitter moms: the influential moms network

I have a home based bussiness but it is not a website business. I want to bring in clients for my home care business, and I want to know how will I attract the right people. I know there are many people who need home care. I also know there is a lot of competition out there but there is room for me. So, how do I get out there and attract the clients that I need?

Have you searched your local newspaper ads and the phone book? All great businesses start with (1) your idea and (2) research. These are the foundations for any business, online or off. All businesses can benefit for having at least a 1 page website and a professional web domain. The cost of this is very low (you can read about my list of frugally professional resources here http://buckeyeva.com/blog/ohiowahm/ )

Do you have a list of references from past and current clients? If not, I'd start creating your portfolio. All business owners can benefit from having a portfolio handy.

As far as competition, do you fill a void with your services? Can you talk to clients that use your competitors (or have used) to see what they weren't happy about or perhaps, the current clients think something is missing from their current help.

You can benefit from professionally printed postcards for direct mailings, posters that can be hung where your target market shops/plays/attends church, ect.

Good Luck :)

Hey Bridgette,

Thank you for asking your question here about your home based business.

Stephanie gave some really great tips research being the most important one. You potential clients are desperately looking for your services of home care. Although you may not consider it a "website business" your best quality prospects are looking to websites on the Internet to help educate them on hiring home care service providers.

If you want to be known as the "go to" person in the home care industry in your town and rise head & shoulders above any competition a prospect attracting website is what your business needs bad...

Also, echoing what Stephanie mentioned post cards and direct mail are great media to use as well. Especially when you use it to give away free tips which highlight your knowledge and experience as a specialist. This makes your prospects want to reach out to you for more help and advice.

However, regardless of which marketing medium you are using you must have an "out come" based marketing message.

Meaning that your potential prospects will get as a result or out come of choosing you as their home care provider that they can put into concrete terms like: No more bed sores, speedy recover etc.

I'd love to help you put together a marketing campaign specific to your budget and goals just book a free initial consultation here and we can chat.

All the best,

Malika
