There is a fabulous coach on Twitter by the name of Pat Weber (@patweber). If you join Twitter, you can find her there. She is helping me tremendously and I recommend her.

You sound like me. You want to be a good salesperson, not a fake one. Perhaps you are little introverted, like me. Pat is your woman. She has become a very good friend as well as coach.

Hello ladies!

I am a (somewhat) successful knitwear pattern designer and avid sewer/crafter. I have also recently started working with a literary agent. Up until now I have relied on sales from my blog/site and my distributor for print and wholesale pattern sales. I have always enjoyed blogging on a personal level but have had a hard time using it as a marketing tool.

I have been "encouraged" to spend a bit of time building more blog/site traffic and have joined Twitter and this online community. I have a really hard time selling myself and marketing my business because it makes me feel like I'm being impersonal... which is something I don't want to do. I have a genuine interest in the people I follow on Twitter and the blogs I visit.

I'm not sure how to find a balance between enjoying what I do and treating it more like a business. I feel like a social networking failure. When I'm working on designs I wonder if I should be networking. When I'm reading about networking strategies I want to be designing. I need 10 more hours in a day!

Not to mention that I'm busy with 4 kids and a husband, a small farm, and a life :-)

I'm hoping to learn some good things from this group. Glad I found you!

Hello Ladies! I have run a search marketing and web analytics agency in Ohio for 12 years. I also taught this topic at Ohio State (before I delivered baby girl in 2008) for 2 years, and developed the course. I speak at various conferences around the country, and just returned for speaking at conference on web analytics in Toronto. Melina took her first trip with me. Working during day, and late at night. Single working mom. Will try to help when time allows.

Hi, all -

I'm Aimee, mother of thee boys (ages 3,5 and 7) and Director of Marketing at Again Mobile and Again Interactive. We're a New Jersey-based startup agency (or agencIES, I guess!), and I'm handling the marketing for the company as well as client work. I've got 12+ years experience in online marketing and as for social - I started my first blog in 2004 and haven't stopped signing up for social media apps since.

So..I just wanted to introduce myself, and hopefully encourage everyone else to do the same. Happy to be here and to meet you all!
