My name is Tara, I'm 39 with 3 kids - 12, 10, 7. You are right - being a SAHM can be tough sometimes, but the good always outweighs the bad! I have a home-biz with a health and wellness company that I work when kids are in school and I love the flexiblity of a home-biz - never miss a school party or field trip! Would love to talk to others! Thanks Amanda for starting this group!

I am Vanessa and I live in Sarasota, FL with my husband and children. I gave up office politics and child care expenses last year to become a SAHM/WAHM to three wonderful children, 6, 10, 12. I work for myself, I coach families in going green, weight loss, and wellness from my home office. I embrace the blessing of freedom and convenience, being available when my family needs me.

My name is Mary, I am 31 y/ and I've been married for almost 11 years now. I'm mother of two children, a boy (10) and a girl (8). I decided to be SAHM because my children will be children only once and I think it's not worth paying to somebody else to enjoy those years. I love being a mom and hubby is supportive so I'll just wait until they don't need me as much to continue my professional life.
I'm Robin and I'm a SAHhomeschoolingM to 4 - two of mine and two of my husband's, but they're all ours. :) We have three boys, 12, 9, and 7 and a girl, 4. We're expecting a new addition next spring. I've been a SAHM since my 12 year old was 3 and I decided I couldn't let somebody else have all the fun anymore. My first husband (of 11 years) and I divorced in '04 and I started an in-home daycare. I did that for a couple of years, but when I remarried last year and had two more children join our family and home school, I decided to quit for my sanity's sake! Now I do professional portrait work and I love it!
I have been a SAHM for 4.5 years now. I have a son who is 4.5 and is in preschool three mornings a week. I also have a 15 month old daughter. I volunteer at my son's school and I belong to a local mom's group.
I am Sherri, a SAHM/WAHM of 2 boys ages 7 and a half and almost 10 years old. I homeschool my boys, we live on a thoroughbred farm and we couldn't enjoy life more! Life is pretty busy with the horses and homeschooling. Plus I am studying Psychology, writing a novel and I do most of the yard work on our 300 acres.
Talking to other Moms would be great as most of my time is dedicated to the kids :)
Wow, I bet life sped up pretty quickly with twins! Are they your first children Amanda?
I love being able to stay at home with my son, who is now 7 weeks old, to give him the attention and stimulation that I know he could not get elsewhere. We have a wonderful bond that I cherish but I'm finding it difficult to stay and home and on some days feel very confined to our apartment. I've been used to working full time, playing sports, being with friends, and going to school - having such a varied and busy life always kept me excited about what I was doing because the results were immediately gratifying . I feel like all of that was put on hold during my pregnancy since my 20-something year old friends and I didn't share the same lifestyle anymore. I guess I felt a bit estranged since I didn't have anyone to relate to or share similarities with anymore. Now that my son has arrived not too much has changed regarding my lifestyle although, I just started running again and it feels great to start getting fit! I'm glad to have joined this group and look forward to talking with other SAHMs.
My husband works a lot and goes to school online full time as well so he's got his plate very full and it's very difficult for me to get a break from caring for my son. I am not too keen on taking him out and about with me so even when I take a "break" and go out to do errands while my husband watches him, I come home and the work seems doubled because I ran my errands, (making me a little more tired than before!) to then come home and resume the 24/7 job of being Mom.
How do other Mom's manage simple things like going to the grocery store or the mall with an infant? My son has seemed so miserable when we go out because he is not able to take quality naps and have relaxed feedings when we're out. I bet this seems silly but, where you do put your baby when you go to the grocery store? I don't feel comfortable sitting him in the grocery store's car seat that is attached to the shopping cart. Should I put him in the stroller and try to push both the cart and the stroller? I used to use the Baby Bjorn but he's a hefty baby and it just recently started really hurting my back when I used the Bjorn.
Looking forward to learning and getting some tips!
Hi! My name is Vanessa, I'm 29-years-old. I'm a SAHM of 3 girls - Kaitlyn 7, Kadence 2 & Kameryn 4 months - I love every minute of it. Also I am a military wife & going back to school (online). I was a SAHM until our first daughter was about 2 years old, then my husband was deployed so we decided it was best for me/us. I am so happy to have found this group to connect with other SAHM's.
