Any other Fly Babies out there? I have been following along with the Fly Lady plan (and adapting it to my own lifestyle) for about a year now, and I've really noticed a lot of improvement in my previously messy apartment.

Pantrygirl and Carmen, that's a great way to purge. The same can be done for clothing. Turn the hangers of all your clothes backward. As you wear items, rehang them forward. At the end of a season, anything that is still hung backwards can be donated - you simply don't pick it out to wear it, so no need to keep it!

I also once heard that the question is not to ask "will I wear this in the next x months" but the question is to ask "Is this item the best piece I can pick out of my closet to wear?"

I am organized for me...no one else can find anything, but I know exactly where everything is! I am looking to get better at lists, structure, organization, so any help, tips are welcome! :) Looking forward to getting to know you all as well.

Hi all. I'm Leslie. Just joined this group. My friends who have been to my house would find it humerous that I joined this group... but the funniest part is, I am VERY organized everywhere but at home. Why I can't do this at home I have no idea. I just started a new job and the boss LOVES the fact that I am so organized. The first week I had cleaned the kitchen, organized the desk and just tonight I cleaned out the storage closet. Any suggestions on how to do this at home, I would love it!!!

Carmen I love that idea. i did that with my kitchen appliances. I made a list and crossed off the appliances I used within a 3 month period. If I didn't use an appliance within that time, I gave it away, sold it or donated it.

I LOVE the shoe bag idea. This also works really well in a child's room for all those odds and ends, such as marbles, pens, pencils, Matchbox cars, and other little things kids love to collect.
