Hi everyone,

I want to run an idea by all of you. I am starting a website (www.besthealth4women.com) geared toward infertility, endometriosis, and PCOS (to start), and I would love your help. I intend to add more in the future, but I wanted to start with these topics at first.

I have endometriosis and PCOS, and I am having my second surgery next month for endo, an endometrioma, inguinal hernias, etc... Plus, I am told all the time that I will almost definitely have trouble with fertility due to these issues. So, with new information from my doctor, a reproductive endocrinology and endometriosis specialist, I am googling everything all the time.

Over the years, I have realized that so much of our reproductive system seems to baffle doctors to where they have very few answers for us except that "many women seem to take well to this type of treatment or that type of treatment." No real answers, so blogs and forums have really helped me over the years. At the same time, there seems to be a great deal of new research recently.

So, my idea is to give women a place to find the latest research on these topics to save them the time of googling for NEW information. I am also beginning to work with my doctor to help him with his practice's marketing. So, I have added a page on the website for suggested books, vitamins, and products.

Would this be of any interest to any of you? Also, would any of you be interested in sharing your story for others to benefit from your experience? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated! Again, the website is www.BestHealth4Women.com
Thank you!

Hi everyone.

I have had one miscarriage at 11.5 weeks in 2002. It wasn't a planned pregnancy, but the loss was devastating for me. I was subsequently diagnosed with PCOS and struggled for years to find a good doctor to help. I finally found a good endocrinologist last year through a recommendation from a friend with PCOS.

After losing our first baby, my husband struggled with whether he wanted to have children and I thought for a long time that I'd never get the chance to try again. He started to come around and then my mother passed away. It was a huge blow as I had said for a couple of years that I was scared she'd never know my kids...sadly I was right.

In 2007, my husband and I finally started TTC again and he was fully on board. I was worried about my PCOS being a problem and after 2 months of trying with no success, I started to track my cycles using the TCOYF method. After four more months, two of which I didn't ovulate, we conceived our son, who is now 17 months old.

My PCOS has reared its ugly head in various ways since I got pregnant and even since Brandon's birth. But I am more thankful than anything that I have a healthy little boy that I've wanted for so long. We hope to have another in a couple more years, though if it doesn't work out, I'll do my best to be happy and content with what I've already been given - which is a LOT!

It's both heartbreaking and comforting to read others' stories on here. My heart goes out to anyone who loses a child or has trouble conceiving. It's nice to have somewhere to go where others understand the struggle, though.

I suffered four (4) miscarriages. I finally adopted; my daughter is from Kazakhstan. I adopted her three years ago. I am all too familiar with the pain associated with miscarriages; physically, mentally, and spiritually. My prayers go out to all of you suffering from it.

Hello everyone!
I am Diane, mom to 3 beautiful kids. 1 that soars and 2 that walk. Zackery was stillborn May 3, 2003 at 39 weeks from unknown causes. We just celebrated his 6th angelversary and I still can't believe he should be 6 years old!
We also have 2 rainbow babies. Natalia was born 15 months after losing Zackery. She is now 4.5 years old. Anya is now 2.5 years old.
Not a day goes by that I don't think about Zackery. Even though I am now raising two beautiful little girls, it is very bittersweet as they still make me wonder what Zackery would be like and just how much I am missing seeing him grow up. I believe one day I will meet him and I will be able to raise him from a baby even though I think of him as a 6 year old angel boy. Does that make any sense? LOL
Anyhow, feel free to add me on here and on twitter. I twitter about my life as a mom walking my grief path and about my everyday life with my family.

Good Day Ladies,
Thanks for all the positive feedback. For those of you who don't know, my company is Bedrest Comfort & Care and I provide personal services and gifts to pregnant women on prescribed bed rest. The website is www.mamasonbedrest.com.

The whole reason I started my company is because when I was pregnant and a candidate for bed rest, I had no support (my family is out of state and I had just moved to my current home.) My husband and I would have really been in a bind. I am still amazed that there is not more support available for "us".

Bebe, I feel your pain. Although I have 2 children, I had 4 pregnancies. I lost the first due to fibroids. After I had them out, I had my daughter. The next pregnancy I lost early at about 9 weeks due to a luteal phase defect (insufficient progesterone to sustain the pregnancy). We corrected that and then I had my son.

This is all just so difficult and when there aren't people with whom you can talk, I just felt all the more isolated. Hence, the business.

Looking forward to hearing more from all of you. Thanks for the support.

Darline,

I would love to hear more about your company! I have spent over a year on bedrest throughout my pregnancies, including at least 7 weeks in the hospital.

Not too sure I want to attempt another one, but I still have a couple years. We'll see.

Ruthie, I'm so sorry for your loss. My heart goes out to you....

Darline, your organization sounds wonderful! I wish I had had that kind of support at the time I was on bedrest. Wishing you well and hope you are able to help many women.

There are some really amazing stories here. It's easy to think that your situation is the only one. Sadly, there are so many others. While I am done having children, I truly want to support everyone here.

Hi All,
My name is Darline Turner-Lee and I am happy to say that I am now the mama of a 6 and 3 year old. But it wasn't an easy journey. I had uterine fibroids and was initially told to have a hysterectomy. After fighting that battle, I finally got married at 35. We tried right away and I miscarried. The fibroids had to go and I had them out and immediately got pregnant with my daughter. 2 years later I got pregnant again and miscarried. About 9 months later I had my son at age 40.

There was no support at that time. My family all lived out of state and I was fairly new to my area. My husband traveled a lot and I really felt alone. This is a great group. Too bad it wasn't around sooner!

As a result of my experience, I just launched a company (2 weeks ago) called Bedrest Comfort & Care. We provide personal care for pregnant women on prescribed bed rest. My personal goal is to support women through pregnancies that occur after loss (es) or infertility. It's appalling how little there is for us. If you feel lead to do so, visit my website www.mamasonbedrest.com. Thanks and I look forward to chatting with and supporting you all.
