I loved reading the Twilight books so much and am sad there are no more (at the moment) to read! Any one have any book suggestions for the mean time?

Thanks

I'm reading Inkheart right now. Nothing like Twilight, but if you like Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings, you would like it. It's a page turner. I'm finding myself staying up way too late to see what happens. No dreamy vampires, though.

The Southern Vampire Series by Charlaine Harris was pretty good

I've read the first one and ran out to get the rest. Inkheart I liked. It is a page turner. I haven't gotten to the sequel. No dreamy characters at all but an interesting plot.

I'm currently reading Wake by Lisa McMann - cool premise. I'm enjoying it.

If you are in the mood for something more in the Twi-vein, City of Bones by Cassandra Clare. No Edward but there is a Jace. StephDC will concur that there is a romance (of sorts) that keeps the pages turning...but again, nothing like Twilight.

Someone recommended the Southern Vampire series to me by Charlaine Harris... I am on book 2 - Lliving Dead in Dallas. It is pretty good! No Edward, but there's Bill. :) It is the book series that the HBO Show True Blood is based on. There are LOTS of books, so it should keep me busy for a while. :)

2001 - Dead Until Dark
2002 - Living Dead in Dallas
2003 - Club Dead
2004 - Dead to the World
2005 - Dead as a Doornail
2006 - Definitely Dead
2007 - All Together Dead
2008 - From Dead to Worse

The following include Southern Vampire short stories by Charlaine Harris:

2004 - Powers of Detection features the short story "Fairy Dust"
2004 - Night's Edge contains the novella "Dancers in the Dark"
2004 - Bite contains the short story "One Word Answer"
2006 - My Big Fat Supernatural Wedding contains the short story "Tacky"
2007 - The anthology Many Bloody Returns contains "Dracula Night"

Oh! And I am also reading "The Host" also by Stephanie Meyer. Not a vampire book, but really good so far! :)

I just read;
The Naming: The First Book of Pellinor (Pellinor Series) (Paperback)
by Alison Croggon (Author)Australian poet Alison Croggon brings an eye for sensual detail to this heroic fantasy that follows the genre's familiar formula: A humble person is caught up in extraordinary events and led (or sent) on a journey by a wise figure, only to discover eventually that he/she is destined to save the world in an ultimate confrontation between the powers of good and evil. In this case the young person is sixteen-year-old Maedra, who is rescued from slavery by the Bard Cadvan.

It was a great book! I am waiting for the second in the series to arrive today :)

City of Bones takes a while to truly get into it...maybe a third of the way in...and then you just start flipping through it to see what happens...huge, huge WTH moment at the end. I saw SM's comment in the Twilight Moms Book of the Month Club which basically said the same thing (she was asking Cassandra Clare a question)...but don't go there until you've read the book because there are definitely spoilers. Nice cliffhanger, I didn't expect it. I now need to read Book 2.

Kim Harrison's series, starting with Dead Witch Walking is awesome, then there's Yasmine Galenorn's Sister's of the Otherworld series (Witchling, Changling, Darkling, Dragon Wytch, Night Huntress, and Demon Mistress) is an AWESOME AWESOME series. Yeah, technically it's a paranormal romance series, but it's more about the girls than romance. I have a TON of authors that I read in the genre, including Charlaine Harris. :) Anya Bast is another author I read. Check my friends list at LiveJournal. :) I have a bunch of my authors on my friends there. :) Check out the FurFangsFey community there, too for authors in the genre.
