Do you read Twilight FanFiction?

Ok, I have to admit, when I first heard about fanfiction of any kind, I balked. I couldn't see the draw. I thought it was sacrilege to change stories from the way they were originally written.

That being said, an acquaintance of my husband's, after finding out we shared a love of Twilight, HP, and all things bookish, told me that she had written a story, which was set to kind of intertwine with canon. SO, I read it...and was immediately hooked. I asked for some suggestions to read, and 2 months later, I'm self-admittedly obsessed. My husband thinks I'm nuts. There are a few kinds of stories that I'm really not interested in, but some of these authors are FABULOUS and should write original works.

I read both all-human and traditional stories. I seriously can't get enough. So here's my plug for my friend's story, hehe.

I cannot believe that we haven't gotten on here yet and posted about Wide Awake. It's written by AngstGoddess003 and I believe it's her very first fanfic.. If you haven't read, OMG you need to. I know its on Fanfiction.net but from what I hear, something about her chapters being so long, it's not the complete story.

Summary: Edward and Bella have dark pasts that leave them severely emotionally scarred, with nightmares that force them to stay awake. They meet and begin to form a bond during the night hours. AH, Highly OOC, Rated M for dark themes. No rape, no cutting. BxE

She also has another story that I enjoy alot called Of Gemini and Gypsies. It hasn't been updated in awhile but i think only because she's been working on finishing up WA but it seems like it's going to be as good as the other.

Summary: Bella and Jasper are nomads with a troubled past who travel the country together until they make an unexpected stop in Forks. Once there, they meet twin siblings Alice and Edward, privileged college students and overachievers who are home for vacation. E/B, A/J, very OOC, explicit adult content

Has Wide Awake been updated since April? I haven't seen it, if it has.

Absolutely LOVE this story. @kharizzmatik does an excellent job on this fic.

Emancipation Proclamation - Edward grew up in a life of money, power, & respect. Isabella was born into slavery-has never known another way. Their worlds collide & neither will ever be the same again. Will he give her freedom? Can he bear to ever let her go?


This story has me going crazy with the angst. So many stupid miscommunications.. but so good!

OMG, read this thread yesterday, followed the links & stayed upuntil 2am reading.
My favorites are Isle Esme, Second Honeymoon and just about anything from Edward's POV.

Keep reading, there are some really good one out there. This thread hasn't been updated in awhile. been meaning to but keep forgetting.. one I've been meaning to post here is Elemental, seriously can't believe I forgot about it when I posted Emancipation Proclamation.

Elemental by TallulahBelle - AU/AH: When the Swans return to their birthplace, Bella learns she is no ordinary teenager, and Forks is no ordinary town. Can she fulfill her destiny with the powerful Edward Cullen, or will the dark forces that threaten their families destroy them all?

This story is a favorite of mine, I love stories with the elements in them, I think it's one of the main reasons I love the House of Night series (I know these aren't fanfics, but If you haven't read these you should check them out!)

Also, I know alot of you ladies read Twilighted, so I thought you would like to know that Meadow has written her own fic. It's still early on, she just posted her first chapter but check it out, she did a great job w/ the first chapter and I know she's going to do a wonderful job with the res of the story.

Frozen Spring by MeadowC - Bella moves to Forks to work on her photography and find some peace of mind after breaking up with her college boyfriend. She soon notices that strange things seem to happen around her house and finds that idyllic Forks hides a supernatural secret

I read Frozen Spring. It's a pretty good start but of course I want more and the next chapter isn't out yet. I started Elemental last night, trying to read it on my phone while I put my son to sleep. I'm trying to resist the temptation to re-read the whole series but honestly as I watch the movie again (watched it twice in the last week), I'm "seeing" things I didn't see before. And this is why I'm gonna need to get 2 tickets when NM comes out. Although I have to admit, I'm not going to be happy to have to watch so much of it without Edward. That's going to be hard. It was hard for me to read it for that reason as well. I'd definitely be interested in reading his perspective during the whole separation.
