How long did it take you to read all 4 books and how often do you watch Twilight?

Okay, let me just say that I am soooo happy to have found this group. I thought I was alone (well, besides my BF and my sister) in absolutely being obsessed with the series.

My best friend introduced it to me and begged me to read the first book at a time when I was really busy in my life and had other things on my plate. I cursed her after I started reading it because I couldn't stop. I think I read that first book in an unimpressive 2 days and after she sent me the remaining 3 books, I finished them all in a total of 8 or 9 days. Disgusting. I know. My husband was not a happy camper because I was ignoring him. Every free moment I had (and I "stole" a few), I was reading. I stayed up late at night, read while I was in the bathroom, read while I bathed my children, read while I had food on the stove, read while sitting at a red light. I knew it at the time, that it was an unhealthy addiction.

I have to admit that I was happy to be finally finished because of my own guilt of being a little negligent to my family. That's my obsessive-compulsive nature.

Then when my sister came for a visit, she bought me a copy of the movie. I watched it ohhh...maybe 10 times in a week. And now I watch the movie trailer for New Moon whenever I see an ad for it.

How long did it take you to read the series? Do you own the dvd and if so, how often do you watch it? Need I ask if you're going to see New Moon on opening day?

I read them all in three months. I read Twilight at least once a week.

I read the first three in about 5 days (i had to wait for NM & EC to be shipped). That was before BD was released. Went to the midnight release for BD, got home at 2am and finishd reading it about 3pm that same day. I had to take breaks so I would say all together it took about 10 hours. I couldn't put down, had to finish it before I would let myself fall asleep..

As for watching Twilight.. I saw it 3 times while it was in theater and I watch it a couple times a month. Don't really count the times I've watched and we, of course, own the DVD.. Actually 3 copies :) one regular one because I was too impatient for mine to be mailed to me and two special edition dvds from amazon. and also a dl copy on itunes so i can have it on my ipod :)

no doubt that I will be on NM opening day. I'm planning on gong to the midnight release and taking that Friday off of work so I can see it again hehe :-) obsessed much? nah.

revamping new moon right now to get into the mood for the movie.. and plus listening to that soundtrack made me depressed so I thought while I was at it, I might as well read the book.

So that's like my watching the movie once a week. LOL! **sigh** I just can't get enough. Why do we love it so much?

Ok Steph, I have to ask, what did you do with your kids while you read? I have a 1 and a 5 year old so I'm always being summoned and found it tricky to really sit for long spells unless it was really late at night.

My BF had a good idea to buy tickets for 2 back to back shows but I'm really liking your idea of catching the midnight showing and then going to sleep, having NM dreams, then waking up and looking forward to seeing a later show after I've digested for a few hours what I saw the night before. Nice!

I have to re read NM again too. I was really trying to resist since I have other things on my desk that I need to finish reading and tons of work to do BUT a girl's gotta have SOME indulgence, right? I'm not really feeling that 2nd soundtrack. Loved the first though. The second is definitely dark, and I can do dark but this one just isn't doing anything for me right now. OH! And I so have to download it to my IPOD. My GF told me about that last weekend that she had it on hers and she's not even a fanatic! Matter of fact, since I watched it tonight, I think I'll go ahead and DL it too.

I usally read in the morning when the kiddos are asleep, when the tv is on and at night when they are in bed. Those are the easiest times. I'm not going to lie though, there are plenty of times I flat out ignore them because I can't put a book down.

The way I got to read BD so fast was because I had my stepdaughter who was reading Twilight while I was reading, so I knew she wouldn't bug me and my DD was at my mom's house because we had been at the midnight release. I loved it.

The movie idea I'm stealing from a friend :) That's what she did last year and it worked or her so I'm doing it this year. Also last year another Twimom friend of mine took off all day and watched the movie 3 or 4 times, one after another. they never even left the theater lol.. I don't think I'm going to go that far though.

yeah, that ST is dark, I can only listen to it in short spurts. I'm not that into it as I was the Twi ST but hopefully after watching the movie, and seeing how they used the songs, I'll start liking it more.

Wow. I feel so much better! There is truly comfort in numbers ladies, now isn't there! My friend kept talking about the books and around last friday I got a copy of twilight and read it over the weekend. Monday I picked up New Moon from her and finished it last night. I just got eclipse from her today and will begin reading shortly. I rented Twilight Monday and watched it 3 times since. I'm losing a lot of sleep and my husband is wondering WTH?!?!? I don't know what my freaking problem is.

OMG I read all 4 books in like 10 days! My husband and kids did NOT exist at all! I'm sorry to say that but its honestly true! I made my husband make dinner until I FINISHED all the books!

I simply could NOT put them down and I read them so MUCH I had to buy a new set! LOL I've seen the movie I don't even know how many times. I've had a babysitter hired for the past 3 months for November 20th!

My 4 year old daughter (will be 5 in Feb) says she loves Edward and calls him the "Cute Boy" and says when she's grown up like mommy she's going to marry him.

Nikki, I'm so with you on Midnight Sun. I really hope she gets the opportunity to finish that up because her fans are definitely craving that full perspective from Edward. And it also keeps the story alive.
