Don't get me started on Zin! My husband started making wine in 2004, partially to celebrate Oscar's birthday. It was a Zin, and it was AWESOME. We still make wine, but are running out of the Zin and have shifted to Cabs and Marsanne blends....

Both! I love sauvignon blanc and cabernet sauvignon, but I think I definitely prefer the white. It really depends on the occasion and what I'm having with it. Also love Prosecco [Italian sparkling wine].

Love Prosecco. My mouth is watering now. My hubby is a big fan of Champagne, so we are treated to bubbly from time-to-time....

I prefer a nice white wine. My 2 favorites are sweeter Chardonnays. Kendall Jackson's Vintner's Reserve (2005 is my fav) and Hess (2006). Both with buttery undertones.

I like reds... usually a Merlot, though I like Pinot Noirs and Cabs. If I do drink white, it is usually a Pinot Grigio...
Though I can't claim any real knowledge of wine... I like to get the Smoking Loon Merlot...

I actually cook with wine more than I end up drinking it LOL! But when I do drink it, I LOVE the dessert type wines...favorite right now would be Beviamo Moscato D’Asti but I must warn you it is way sweet! Also, if you want a Champagne with "character" try Wilson Creek's ALMOND Champagne!!!
So if you haven't guessed by now I stick to the white wines, but am always trying to find a red that I like :)

red for sure! Chianti and Cabernet Although I would like to start exploring whites one day.

Right now, I'm enjoying Chateau St. Jean 2004 Malbec...very juicy with flavors of raspberry, mocha and chocolate! It will do the trick for tonight's selection!

Great suggestions! It's funny you mention the Wilson Creek Almond Champagne -- we have a bottle of it in our cellar (we love sparkling wines). We got it as a gift. You're the first person I've met who knows about it, let alone to have tried it. I'm going to bust it out next weekend. I'll share my notes with you!

Like both! A nice full cab in the winter. A light Pinot Grigio in the summer. Or vice versa ; ) I love to try different wines from different regions too. Love to go to wine tastings to experiment.
