Do wine labels influence you?

I know what I like, but I often find myself drawn to a label. Often times the label out does the actual quality of the wine! Some companies really do a good job of setting themselves apart.
I thought this was pretty original wine bottle label. I've never seen the brand in store, but I want to give it a try one day.

Absolutely, wine labels are like book covers to me. The label attracts me to learn more about the wine. If two sound just as good I'll pick the catchy title. One of my fav finds is called Seven Deadly Zins.

It definitely catches my eye and makes me think more about trying it, then I would if there was a boring label slapped on top.
I like the one you made, it has a retro feel.

Definitely am influenced by wine labels - if there are cool and/or unique ones in the category of wine that I'm browsing, I'll usually buy the ones with the most unique labels. I do, however, look to see if there happens to be a description of the wine or the winery it's coming from, which will either solidify my choice of whether or not to buy that cool looking bottle of wine... ;)

Sometimes the label gives you insight to the character of the actual winery or winemaker. I love wine labels with a sense of humor!

As well as enjoying drinking the wine I also collect it. So yes the wine lables do influence me.

Wine labels and the ratings influence my choice. If the rating is high and I am choosing between more than one wine, the label will make the difference!

I agree completely. I'm trying to not look at the labels so much as just the name / type of wine it is. I've tricked myself so many times with the "label" being so pretty and sophisticated looking, then it tastes like my 7 yr old made it. lol..

I'm not even ashamed to admit that I totally judge a wine by its cover! I can't help it! Some of those labels are art! And since I'm a creature of habit, once I find a wine I like, I'm hooked. The pretty labels get me to branch out! I talked to a wine shop owner recently and confessed all of this to him. He took me on a tour of some of his favorite wines in the store and shared how many companies are realizing how important the packaging is to consumers and have started designing their labels to cater to that. He even showed me some wines that have reinvented their labels to become very popular sellers, whereas with their previous labels he couldn't even give them away! It just goes to show that we're right!

Yes, a label can influence me. I like the custom labels that you can create for special occasions. I stick mostly with reds, but a good label will draw me in...I won't lie. I'm visual like that at times....LOL.
But if the wine tastes crappy, that label is STILL going into the trash.
